Any Reba fans here? I heard her duet with LeAnn Rimes recently on her Family album, and I loved her and her voice. So I downloaded 50 Greatest Hits and Reba is just so amazing.

 

Anyway, Reba has a new single out called Strange. It's off her first studio album in 6 years, and the album will be released in August. Right now the single is at #85 on the iTunes Country charts. I love Strange, it's so good!

I've so been waiting for a Reba thread!! She was my LIFE for 14 years, before I discovered Celine last year. Serious, I was so obsessed. I have three posters of her up in my room, every damn CD and get this - I have met her...SIX TIMES. I've seen her in concert 3 times, seen her in a play once in LA...she is so amazing, I LOVE her. She wasn't as nice as Celine is to her fans (she's been a tad rude a couple times and she's not as warm as Celine) but nevertheless, I cried every time meeting her. I've got two videos of meeting her (separate times) and then one picture where I look like I know her, I'm on set at her TV show Reba (attended the series finale taping of that, something I'll never forget) in a group with like, five people talking to her. I don't even remember it because I was in such a daze but I have proof! haha. So needless to say...I f****** love her.

 

Also, I saw you just registered at ExtremeReba...I replied to your introduction, that board is basically my second home (as you can tell by the, like, 26,000 posts I have there haha)

 

And I'm loving the new single, Strange. She looked so damn good on the ACMs, she's just getting better with age

I always knew who she was, I was just stupid enough not to try and listen to her music! So now she is my new obsession for a while. ANd yes, I agree about the ACM's. I can't believe she's 54! Wow!

Well, we just found out today that our new single, "Strange" will be entering the charts at #39!!!!! That's the highest debut I've had on a solo release!!!!! Thanks so much for all your support! I sure do appreciate it!!!

All the folks at Valory Music Co. are pumped!!! They are so dedicated to this song and so excited about the album that we think will be released August 18th!

Hahah I know...it took her a while to realize it though! I stood in front of her for a while and right as she walked away she noticed lol. But omg I love that video. I love that I can see where she is actually looking at me. And talking to me. laksjdhlfkasjdf.

 

For those who have no idea wtf I'm talking about:

- the first shot of the people up on the rails - I'm in the pink (this was 2 1/2 years ago, I would never wear pink how haha...plus, it was a shirt from Reba's line) about four people from the right and I run my fingers through my hair and sort fan myself because...HELLO this is Reba!

- 1:58-ish, another shot of me kinda freaking out

- 2:34 - that is my friend Melissa...she calls Reba back and tells her that I'm her biggest fan and blah blah - and Reba looks at me and is all "aw, thank you!"...2:44 she is looking at me ...and THEN she finally notices I'm wearing one of her shirts haha

Reba looks so amazing in those pics, especially the 1st! I can't believe she's 54. She puts women half her age to shame! And I listened to a couple previews(I Just Can't Stop Loving You, I Want a Cowboy, and Maggie Creek Road) and they sound amazing! This album is gonna be fantastic.

Who loves the new album?

 

My review:

 

1. Strange - Amazing first single! Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. 10/10

 

2. Just When I Thought I Stopped Loving You - I love it! I love the production of it and it's such a great song. 10/10

 

3. I Keep on Lovin' You - Beautiful ballad with emotional vocals from Reba and great lyrics. 10/10

 

4. I Want a Cowboy - Needs to be the 3rd single! Sassy, fun, and with an edge only Reba's voice could bring. 10/10

 

5. Consider Me Gone - My favorite song on the album along with She's Turning 50 Today. PERFECTION! Great midtempo with wonderful kiss-off lyrics and great vocals from Reba. 10/10

 

6. But Why - A pretty good song, not my favorite but it is really good. 8/10

 

7. Pink Guitar - Fun song, you can tell Reba had a lot of fun with this one. 9/10

 

8. She's Turning 50 Today - AMAZING! Perfect song with touching lyrics and a vocal performance from Reba that makes you feel her pain. My favorite with Consider Me Gone. 10/10

 

9. Eight Crazy Hours (In the Story of Love) - I really like the laid-back, acoustic feel of the song, and the lyrics are very interesting. Really great song. 10/10

 

10. Nothing to Lose - Fun, sassy song! Great fun, it's especially great live(loved the Invitation Only performance). 10/10

 

11. Over You - Really beautiful ballad with a great vocal performance from Reba. 9/10

 

12. Maggie Creek Road - Great song with a lot of meaning. The tempo is faster but the lyrics are very deep. 10/10

 

13. I'll Have What She's Having - I honestly never took to this song like I did the others, but it's still good. 7/10

Superstar entertainer Reba McEntire adds another page to the history books this week as her first new solo studio album in six years – and her first on her new label The Valory Music Co. – debuts at #1 on both the Billboard Top Country AND the Top 200 Albums charts.

 

Keep On Loving You is Reba’s first solo studio album to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Featuring the Top 10 smash “Strange,” the album is the highest debut from a female country artist for 2009 and is the 6th overall highest country debut of the year.

 

With the success of Keep On Loving You, Reba now holds the record as the female artist with the most #1 albums on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, having earned 11 #1 albums since the launch of the chart on January 11, 1964. Reba had previously shared the title with Loretta Lynn with 10 albums.

Reba’s 34th career studio album will also include the superstar’s popular cover of Beyonce’s hit, “If I Were A Boy,” which became a viral sensation when she first performed the song on CMT Unplugged earlier this year.
