Mario Lefebvre leaves Feeling Productions

Rene's business partner, Mario Lefebvre has decided to leave Feeling Productions to set up his own company. He's been Feeling Productions' vice-president for 8 years.

He was Garou and Marilou's manager. He also helped Rene with managing Celine's career.

He will continue to work with Marilou. Her next album it's his new company's first project.

I guess so. It wasn't Rene who worked with her anyway, it was Mario, who worked for Rene's company. Rene has his hands full with Celine, Star Academie... Not to mention if the rumours are true and he's bidding for Les Canadiens de Montreal hockey team... and wins!

yeah, i wonder what, if any impact this will have on our view of Celine, her career, choices, etc. From what I've understood, Celine's managed by Rene, and the others were managed by Mario, and there wasn't much else...

I didn't mean nothing special. Only that it will be interesting to know. If you take a look on other threads about their empire you can see by yourself how vague is all that. Only one thing is sure - like they're buying out Quebec bit by bit. Do you know what, say, Quebecor represents? Nobody knows how much they own but one can see that they're pretty much controlling it. And so on

Does this guy Lefevbre really go independent? Or is it just another extension of Feeling/CDA/whatever it is.

And this girl Marilou - what happened to her career? After a honorable start she practically disappeared - but why they signed her in the first place? Because she was managed by a friend - Guy Cloutier - the famous producer/manager (Rene started as his collaborator) and at the time (2004) he was judged and jailed for child molesting (ancient story). But the girl marilou was something like 14 at the time so... hell I don't know but one stumbles on the things like that

Like when Marc Dupre decided to start his solo career the Quebec he got a manager named Francis Delage. Who happened to be Garou's personal friend and his road manager - so he was employed by Feeling (C.D.A.). OK. But the thing is that Dupre at the time (2005)was among NOVEM artists. Not Feeling. And NOVEM (is doesn't exist anymore) was in fact Guy Cloutier's society which changed the boss (to his daughter) and changed the name - because, as I said above, he found himself in jail. So it looks like the the two companies - Angelil's and Cloutier's were linked (???)

I really don't know, as I said I kinda stumble on the things like that and they made me think.

Rene and Cloutier were friends for many years, that's why Rene was in total shock when he found out about child molesting thing... He spoke about it. They were in a group of friends together and they were all really shocked, there's no mistery/consipiration there.

Of course Rene is hugely influential in Quebec. He's one of the most successful business people, he and Celine have the biggest artist management company...

Nothing wrong with a man to want to walk on his own two feet, if he feels up to it, and this is what happened here, nothing more, don't make such a big deal out of it.

As for Marilou, let's just be honest: the girl is cute and can sing a little, but she really doesn't have what it takes. That's why she dissapeared.

Oh, and Feeling Productions and CDA are two separe companies. The first was set up by Rene, the second belongs to Celine and Rene (Celine Dion Angelil) CDA Productions.

I don't think that her career will suffer because of it. Rene always makes sure that Celine is well taken care of and that her music career is where she wants it at the time. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well.... I would say that if there is something really going on behind the scenes then sooner or later we will find out. We will also know if it will hurt Celine or not. I really hope that nothing is going on and I really do hope that Celine will not get hurt! Time will tell.....

The reasons he stated for leaving make total sense. And I'm sure Rene is perfectly capable of keeping bad people away from Celine, and hiring new people if he needs help managing his business or her career.

 

So if Rene's former friend did the wrong thing, that's awful- but how does that affect Celine today?
