A poem I wrote for my friends wedding day

To share this day with you my friends

Means so much to me

It’s a day of love

It’s a day of joyful tears

It’s a day of laughter

A day when you both start the journey

of spending the rest of your lives together

I smile with the thought

That you both have found love so beautifully

Its helps me to keep the faith

That a love like yours could perhaps find me one day

May your lives be filled with sunshine

I know that days will come when it rains

But those days will not last forever

and the love you both share

will give you the strength

to keep going and to smile again

to everyone you are an example

of what love looks like

and the happiness it can bring

My prayer for you both

is for your love to last a lifetime

You have shined a light in each other’s lives

There to guide each other through

Ups and downs and all the in-betweens

Be good to each other always
