We were scared sh!tless to go on the slopes after hearing the news, but we went anyway. But still quite alarming nonetheless. At 10:50 Thursday morning, emergency crews were called to Blue Mountain. Elisabeth Reurink from London's Catholic Central High School went down a marked run and hit a tree. A teen died after skiing accident at Blue MountainGlobal News The girl was on a school trip and was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Students and staff members at Elisabeth's high school are mourning her death. Counsellors are at the school today talking to students. This is the second skiing/snowboarding-related death while a student was on a school trip in recent weeks. A 13-year-old student from South Korea died after losing control and hitting a tree Feb. 13. I remember when I went skiing a long time ago I was always worried about stopping, or just navigating around things when on a trail, like trees. Yo are going pretty fast on those things. Quote

And I skiied for the first time on Friday too, and I did fine. I'm still alive. Honestly, she died because she was stupid. It's sad, but she was stupid. What happened with him ( I think) was the impact of the tree killed him instantly and I think the tree fell on him too if I remember correctly. ( I used to be fascinated with Cher).
