so on chelsea lately (which is QUICKLY becoming my favorite tv show) she was making fun of rene for taking little rene gambling with him to prevent him from becoming a gambler like he is. Then she went on to making fun of his hair and that Rene just lives off of "bank celine"

Yeah. His cousin worked in a bank. Then his cousin left the bank, and Rene went bankrupt. All this stuff is being "revealed" in his new Biography, but for some reason, I thought we already knew that.

And he's teaching RC to play poker (with chips) but I guess that's at home, not at the casino?

 

Btw what is Chelsea Lately, is that a news show?

Chelsea Lately is sort of a comedian that does Celebrity gossip and what not.

Mostly I find her to be a rude annoying excuse of a person.

I think Chelsea's pretty funny. I mean her show is on E! and all they do is gossip on that channel anyways so it makes sense that she just makes fun of people all the time. I haven't seen the episode about the poker but I have seen this one a few times where she also makes fun of Celine

They air her show over here, and she just annoys me.

She isn't funny whatso-ever, maybe its the British/American humour barrier, but she really is insulting.

I don't find that the least bit funny. It is more like jealousy and making fun than being funny. Maybe that is why Chelse's show is on E a channel I hardly ever watch...Hello!

Imo,

 

What works in this skit:

 

1. The set up: Chelsea says she finds Céline annoying and never listens to her music. The pay-off: Chelsea tells Céline she is a huge fan and everything she does is great. What's funny is Chelsea's almost repulsive hypocritical sincerity.

2. When "Céline" says, "It's what I do, Chelsea, it's what I do." The crisp diction and sing-songy intonation are amusing.

 

What doesn't work:

 

1. There's more here that's old than new. For example, Chelsea's "on and on" reference to Titanic - talk about tired jokes. Another example: the "father, no husband" confusion.

2. The attempt to portray René as a glutton. This is so far from the truth that it falls flat. It's also crude.

 

What should be off-limits:

 

Children should not be considered fair game for public ridicule. It is unethical.

she is just joking around - that is what she gets paid to do

its just like perez hilton but on TV

some of the skits are absurd and stupid and aren't funny at all... but some are
