Bralo20 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The world has gone mad... This morning a man intruded a nursery in Dendermonde, Belgium where he stabbed children and adults. At this moment 4 people died whereof 3 little children and 1 adult. 12 others (10 children and 2 adults) has suffered injuries in the attack. Several children are still fighting for there lives at this moment. Immidiately after the attack a national police alarm was issued and a police helicopter was called to guide the ground search to the assailant. Police forces where able to find the assailant in a nearby town where he was arrested... Belgium and most of all the city of Dendermonde is in a deep shock... Bralo20 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Very very tragic. But I think it's best that this type of topic stays on CNN. Sorry, I thought that the off topic part was there to chat about everything but it seems that I was wrong...Hell, I should have known it, when I posted some pictures of fires which I took I also got some critics although it were pictures which were featured in the newspapers... I'll ask to close this thread. My appologies for opening this thread, didn't know this wasn't a place to discuss something that is actual news. Quote ...

Bralo20 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) @ admins or mods: can someone change the title into Man kills 2 children, 1 adult... instead of "kills 3 children..."Fortunately there was a mistake made this afternoon when a hospital announced that another child died to the injuries suffered... Which was in case one of the victims allready counted for... The confirmed balance of this tragic day is: 2 baby's killed (8 & 9 months old)1 adult killed who tried to protect the baby's (a lady in her '50's, working for 35 years in the nursery)10 baby's / infants serious injured, all suffered major traumas but all were saved during severe operations in several hospitals througout the province2 adults serious injured 9 baby's/infants didn't suffer injuries but were traumatised by the event There was being spoken that in total 5 adults were injured (including the 2 allready counted) but this hasn't been confirmed yet. After the tragic event the assaillant drove with his bicycle to another nursery a couple of miles away, before he reached it several police troups got the assaillant in custody. The man, 20 years old, was wearing a bullet proof vest and carried several knives and was also carrying an axe in a backpack. The assaillant had no criminal history but it seems he was being treated by a psychiatrist (the reason remains unknown). The assaillant is not co-operating with the police force and has given several fake ID's, he was not under influence of narcotics or alcohol. During investigations it seems that he did laugh continuesly... A tragic day for Belgium, once again... Edited January 23, 2009 by Bralo20 Quote ...

SensationalCeline Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I don't see how anyone can be that cruel to infants and adults. They hadn't even experienced life yet and they couldn't even protect themselves. Everyone is in my prayers. Poor day for Belgium. whineupemily Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) That's awful! Why on Earth would anyone do that!? Everyone involved is in my prayers. Because sick twisted people are to pathetic and sad about their own lives, they feel the need to ruin innocint lives of those around them, and get pleasure from it, because they feel as though it will fill some void in their life, which it wont. God, how terrible Edited January 25, 2009 by whineupemily Quote
Bralo20 Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Fortunately all victims suffering severe injuries are stable, nobody is in lifedanger anymore and some may leave the hospital soon. A few remain on intensive care but are stable. As days goes by more details are made public. The assaillant isn't co-operating with the police so his motives remain unclear. According to several reports he had different addresses with him and if the police didn't had find him so soon more casulties would be made. It is believed that he was going to kill 75 people in several daycare centres in the neighbourhood. When caught he was probably driving to the second address... The man is charged with 3 accounts of murder and 12 accounts of murder attempt, he's transferred to a high security prison in Bruges, probably because the police fear for his live when he would be locked in the Dendermonde prison. Why he choose to attack the weakest of all (baby's and infants) is still unclear... Due his painted face the media is linking this to some known figures in history of movie and music... The connection most made is the connection with "The Joker" in the latest Batman movie since the tragic event happened a day after Heath Ledger was one year dead, he played the character of The Joker in the last Batman movie but police weren't able to confirm if this had something to do with it since the assaillant will not co-operate in any way. Sad days for Belgium... January 23, 2009 will remain in everybody's memory forever... It will be a black page in the history of Belgium. Quote ...
