Les Mills Bodypump

I thought I'd start a discussion about something I'd really like to talk about! :) Are any of you familiar with Les Mills bodypump classes, or other Les Mills classes? I go to the gym, I do spinning and go to bodypump and bodystep. I just love it, and I thought it would be fun to talk about it, especially about bodypump, about the current moves and songs and stuff, as they are the same worldwide.

I figured that on this forum there must be someone else too who goes to these classes. I hope at least! :)

You should try it! It is so good! Though it depends a little on the program, on the songs and moves in a specific program, and also on the instructor.. But in general it's so much fun! :)

I've tried it once as well! It was fun and the music was great, although some moves were pretty hard too, at least if you don't have much dancing skills. :D You've been to the other classes?

Yeah the boxing one, way too hard, I was over it after 5 minutes  Bodyjam for me is the most fun, I don't know half the dance moves we just end up laughing all the time, I'm very uncoordinated

Yeah that one is pretty hard, and I really don't know how to kick properly. :D But exactly, the great part in these classes is that you don't have to take them too seriously but have fun too and often end up laughing.. Especially if you have a fun instructor!

I go to bodypump too. I try to make myself go there 2 times a week. Sometimes I use excuses not to go though (too much school work etc.) :whistling:

The good thing about bodypump is that it's easy and everyone can do it. I can't do aerobic for example coz I can't keep up with all the moves. And it's embarassing. :D

What songs do you have in bodypump? We have two Pink songs ( Get the party started & So what), Shut up and drive by Rihanna, Castles in the sky by Ian van Dahl... I think all of those are great, but I don't like Basshunter's All I ever wanted which we have in shoulder muscles. And then we have some other songs too, but I can't remember which.

:sofunny: :sofunny: :sofunny: :sofunny: we also have the two Pink songs ( Get the party started & So what), Shut up and drive by Rihanna in our class!! :sofunny: I don't think our instructor is doing the les mills thing... she makes up her own routine, but maybe they have a bodypump instructors site, where they can download songs with moves to go along! I didn't think I'd like it when I started it, but it is actually fun... although the pain sometimes!! :glare: -_- hahaha I hate the lunches! :glare:

WAIIIIIIIIIT!! is that castles in the sky song something with... tell me WHY hmmm building castles in the sky?? something like that?? then we have the same songs! :giggle: do you have to do a clean up press (?)too??? is there also like a rock song too?

but erm celly, with bodypump you also have to keep up with the moves!! :P

:sofunny: I guess they don't have very much imagination with choosing the songs. :sofunny:

Yup I think you have the same Ian van Dahl's song too. "Tell me why do we build castles in the sky... etc...." :D Do you have Basshunter? Is Sweet home Alabama a rock song? :D Coz we have that one too, I think.

And yes, it's so painful sometimes. :D

What do you mean by clean up presses? Or do you mean clean and press (I googled it. Don't know any of those move's names)? Lifting the bar above your head..? If that's what you mean, yeah we have those.

but erm celly, with bodypump you also have to keep up with the moves!! :P

True, but they're much easier to follow and a bit slower than in aerobic for example. :giggle:

Actually I think the songs are supposed to be the same in everywhere in the world, for 3 months always! Except sometimes there have been some different versions in Australia I think..? That's one thing that's so fun about it, to think that people in every corner of the world are doing the same moves and have the same songs! :D But at our gym for example, the instructors start to mix the programs after 1,5-2 months, so that the last month of the program is quite often something else than the latest release.

I so love the biceps song in this release! I feel I get so much more energy listening to So What and doing biceps! And I loove lunches, I think it's my favourite move! :D Though it's pretty painful too, but I still love it! :P Though the song in this release ain't that good as it was in the last release for example.

Oh and I love the current chest track too! :D

 I was just about to write here that I just read on the Internet that the songs are the same worldwide. So no wonder we have all the same songs.

I hate the lunges. I think I have almost non-existing calf muscles so those moves are really painful to me. :D

I loooove Bodypump! The fact that you can't walk normally for a couple of days.. love it :-D

In our classes we have pretty good music, f.ex Bad Romance (in the thighs) Burn it to the ground (in the triceps), Unstoppable by Kat DeLuna (in the biceps), and the calm stretching music is The Prayer :in_love:

In our class there are NO MEN. Once there was couple of guys who laughed at some of the women who lifted "only" 7,5kg in the biceps, so they all loaded like 25kg.. Oh the looks on their faces in the end of the song :sofunny:

Our instructor is a trooper. She loads to biceps 30kg. Crazy woman. She's really encouraging..

"YEAAH LADIES YOU CAN DO IT!! ONCE MORE!! ONCE MORE!! OKAY ONCE MORE!! FEEL THE PAIN, FEEL YOUR SUPER MUSCLES PUSHING THROUGH YOUR SKIN...YOU CAN DO IT GIRLS!!!"

"If you follow your dreams it means you follow your heart. And if you follow your heart - I don't think you can go wrong."
