hello everyone! i'm cate. i live in kansas, USA. i've been a celine fan since 1995. i saw her on the disney channel when i was 14 (The Colour of My Love Concert) and some weird fascination overcame me. it was like i'd discovered the singer i thought never existed but should. . . and there she was on my tv. my mom heard it from the other room and i remember her saying, "oh yeah, i wanted to get one of her cds. . . " so she bought The Colour of My Love. i stole it. then in the following three months i bought every cd and video i could find. yeah, pretty much obsessed. then i started to translate her songs (i bought a french to english dictionary) and then started taking french classes in high school and took one in college. so i pretty much learned a new language thanks to celine.

after she went to las vegas, i sort of went on a celine fandom hiatus :shy: i had moved to new york city in march 2001 and sort of got caught up in my own life there (very hectic and chaotic and expensive). . . then moved back to kansas, where i'm from, in march 2003. i had developed a sheryl crow obsession. . . then after that ladytron, then tegan and sara and now i do believe i'm becoming a celine fanatic again. although i've never stopped loving her, i just stopped following her. i used to buy her albums the day they came out, now i didn't even know the title of her last album! (don't worry, i've done some catching up and have gotten all of the albums i've missed since A New Day except the Live in Las Vegas one. . .

if only i had the technology we have now when i became a fan in '95. it would have been so much easier to get rare celine things! when i went to france, the first things i purchased were celine albums you can't buy in the states :rolleyes:
