Alex_Incognito Posted December 18, 2008 at 08:57 AM Posted December 18, 2008 at 08:57 AM Hi there! I am contemplating going to Brussels for Christmas, I would be taking the train from Paris to the Gare de Midi in the south of the city. Where is a good spot to stay? What fun things should I make sure not to miss?I see there are excellent prices of hotels in the European Union area. Is that a good area to stay in? How far from the train station is the area? Any help would be appreciated!!!! Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
Bralo20 Posted December 18, 2008 at 12:53 PM Posted December 18, 2008 at 12:53 PM Hey Alex, How long are you planning to stay and what kind of hotels are you searching for? One of my favourite hotels in Brussels is The Dominican hotel in the Leopoldstreet. Unfortunately it is a rather expensive hotel but it's very beautifull... It's a designhotel which just opened a year ago. A couple of weeks back we've planted a big fig tree in the center of the hotel. Also the Sheraton is quite a nice hotel. NH Brussels City Centre is also a nice one and how could I forget the Crown Plaza and The Hilton. Also a Best Western is available I think, which are also very nice hotels. And if you want to be decadent you should stay at the Conrad hotel, probably the most expensive hotel in Brussels and regular staying place for the biggest on earth In Brussels there is plenty to see. I live only 20km's from our capital and i'm visiting Brussels quite regulary for my job and every time I discover something new... Last week I drove at night past the famous Jubel Parc, with the lights it was really nice to see. And the "Grand Place" with the Christmas stalls are nice to see those days. And if you like shopping you have to go the the "Rue Neuf" or the "Avenue Louise" if you like to let the money flow Some info in English: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brussels Quote ...
Alex_Incognito Posted December 18, 2008 at 01:33 PM Author Posted December 18, 2008 at 01:33 PM (edited) Thank you so much! I was looking into the Méridien Bruxelles hôtel, Méridiens have yet to steer me wrong. I plan on staying from 24 dec - 29 dec. I generally like nicer hotels---4 stars is always nice! haha I'm very excited about going. Can you recommend any museums? I'm going by myself, so I want to keep my time occupied since it's around Christmas! You rock, Bralo!
