The completed Heroes records will be albums of staggering musical diversity, uniting the cream of musical giants from different generations to support the humanitarian efforts of War Child Canada. Dr. Samantha Nutt, Executive Director of War Child said, "War Child's programming is predicated on the belief that by empowering children we stand a better chance of a peaceful future. The artists who have contributed to this record really are heroes, because it is through their creativity that we are able to continue our work with children whose lives have been devastated by war." Pierre Marchand, President Music Division Archambault Inc. said, "I was immediately touched by the incredible work that War Child does in the world's most devastated conflict zones, but mostly those in Africa. It was obvious for all of us at Musicor and Select that we join them in their efforts. To relay War Child's message in Quebec, it was clear that music is the most effective vehicle. Every artist that we asked to join in the adventure responded with positive enthusiasm. We hope that Heroes will allow you to feel the urgency of War Child's incredible work and inspire you to help."http://www.warchild.ca/index.php/news/article/46 Quote "Today, I’m a person on a path of connecting with my source and understanding that I am on the leading edge of creation.."

Lou555 Posted December 12, 2008 at 12:54 AM Posted December 12, 2008 at 12:54 AM (edited) [quote name='Davey84' date='Dec 11 2008, 12:36 PM' post='1289148]Quebec War Child AlbumDecember 11 , 2008 and now my comment is; why the hell didn't céline resang it herself?!?!?!?! She didn't because no other legend did, it's a concept cd...Like is was annouced that was the concept for this special cd, for a Québécois legend(Céline here with others) to ask a new artist of her or his choice to do one of their classic song.Céline chose the song ONCP and to perform it Térez Montcalm whom she has always loved. Céline and René even at one point helped her sign a contract with Sony year ago. It didn't work out at the end I think because they wanted to change her style too much and there was too much difference between how she wanted to lead her career and Sony's vision of it, of her future. Anyway I know they(Térez and Céline) still have a lot of respect for each other even though their style have not that much in common. Térez said she would always be greatful to Céline and René for trying to help her carreer at one point. As you can hear Térez is very special and unique by her voice and the way she sings in a jazzy way. Personally I know of no one who sound like her. What she does is very personal and it has been difficult I guess to make it in a commercial way. Anyway that doesn't remove the quality of what she offers and Céline has always been very impressed with her...so did I! If Céline wants to do On Ne Change Pas in the future in another way, she still can because I would be surprise that she would have chosen to do it in this way anyway...not to forget she chose the artist she wanted to hear do the classic of her choice in her repertoire and that would be a privilege and a fun thing I would think...not forgetting to top it all it's for very very good cause. Very interesting result I find! Edited December 12, 2008 at 01:15 AM by Lou555 Quote
