OMAHA, DENVER, SALT LAKE CITY, SAN JOSE CONCERTS RESCHEDULED

November 14 , 2008

 

AEG Live, the promoter of Celine Dion's Taking Chances World Tour, has rescheduled the artist's November concerts in Omaha, Denver, Salt Lake City and San Jose, while Celine recuperates from a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection which was further complicated by inflamed vocal chords. Her physician has instructed her to refrain from singing in order to completely recover.

 

These concerts have been rescheduled for the following dates:

 

Omaha, Qwest Center - Thursday, February 26, 2009

 

Denver, Pepsi Center - Tuesday, February 24, 2009

 

Salt Lake City, EnergySolutions Arena - Sunday, February 22, 2009

 

San Jose, HP Pavilion - Friday, February 20, 2009

 

Fans should hold on to their original tickets as they will be honored for the new concert dates. Fans unable to attend the rescheduled concerts can obtain a refund at their original point of purchase.

 

I think this needed its own topic in the TCWT section! I am sorry for all those fans who now have to wait even longer to see Céline! I am also very sorry for all the fans who bought tickets for Montreal, because they thought it would be the last show date, but I am most sorry for Céline, because there's nothing she can do about the situation and i am sure it's killing her that she has to disappoint so many fans

 

Céline I wish you all the best and I hope you will soon recover!!!

there is no timeframe for such thing. its all about getting the right meds and the body has to do the rest.

 

poor Celine, she must feel horrible. being sick, having to disappoint many fans and now she has to "extend" her world tour and

postpone her well deserved break.

Omg I feel so sorry for you guys, I dearly hope you can attend the rescheduled dates and that nobody else is mucked up. Poor Celine hope she's feeling much better, and that she is well enough to perform in LA.

Whoa! And to think I almost bought myself a $200+ ticket to see Celine's "final show" in Montreal!! Phew...good thing I read this.

I am disappointed, but however...Celine's health and voice is top priority. I think I'm going to wait around till the new year to

figure out where her last show will be & try to travel there instead.

I hope she gets better...I am just waiting for the San Diego show to be announced as postponed now (my first show)...to be honest, I am kind of hoping she does so she makes sure she is fully better before she gets back on stage.

Doesn't this mean the final concerts will not be held in Montreal then? Many fans deliberately purchased high-priced tickets for those nights on the premise they would be the final shows of this tour. And now the tour is ending in...Nebraska?

 

I hope she takes as much time as she needs to get back to 100%. This tour has been so strenuous and rigorous. All the traveling and performing leaves Celine very vulnerable to sickness. Look at how many hands she grasps and how many cheeks she kisses before and after she leaves the stage. She puts herself in contact with many germs.

Well, as much as I'm disappointed that I won't be seeing Celine in less than two weeks I'd much rather have her take the ample amount of time off in order to get better. San Jose hasn't been totally canceled; rather simply postponed. It is what it is.

I'm sorry to hear this news for all the many people who purchased tickets for these shows and got totally ripped off by scalpers for her "final engagements" in Canada, but sickness is unpredictable.

 

I hope that she would be well, and ready in December, in time for the Grammy Tribute.
