Branson, Missouri

For many years of longing, finally I have the chance to visit USA in March 2009. I'm participating in the Work & Travel USA program and I have chosen waitress as my job (Yay, now I get to work hard instead of using my brains in teaching and studying).

 

I will be working at Steak 'n Shake in Branson, Missouri for 3 months. I'd like to know whether anyone live or had visited there.

 

- How is Branson?

- Has anyone ever eaten at Steak 'n Shake (at any branch)? How do you think of the place?

- How is the weather in USA in March till June?

- Can anyone suggest a good quality of a waitress, from customers point of view?

- Is it true that Branson is a bit like Las Vegas?

I guess one would consider Branson the Las Vegas of Missouri. It's not a bad place at all, in fact, it will be a charming taste of America for you.

 

In the USA a waitress should:

- Have the attitude that the customer is always right (even when not true)

- Always be efficient

- Be friendly, even though you're having a bad day

- March - June in Missouri aren't that bad. Similar to mid-France temperatures (if that helps!) It starts to get VERY warm in the summer, around late June. Spring is very nice to be there.

 

I've been to a few Steak n' Shakes in my day. It is fast food in an old-fashioned diner style of way. It's a step above McDonald's. You won't receive the best type of customers, and places like Steak n' Shake, it's rare for the server to receive a tip (service isn't compris).

 

My advice---ENJOY IT! I'm sure you'll have fun!

I wish I could go to Missouri.. that's where SE is from... that's New Franklin though, i think Branson is close to New Franklin.. anyways.. never mind me
