I can understand most of it in a literal, word for word sense. But I don't know what they're suggesting, what their source is, or if we should be concerned. So I just wanted to ask

Ok. Makes sense to me. I would have thought she was/ should have been doing so all along- as an artist and a wife. It doesn't have to be a problem, right? It just seemed like a very random thing to make an article about.

well some might shoot me for this, but I think that up untill 2002 her carreer and every move was in the hands of René, even after 2002 when Céline was starting to make more decisions herself, René still pushed a lot, like AND... and maybe even this tour. but now I think she wants to be more in charge herself, and I guess in 'Céline world' that is news

I agree 100%! and she has the last word...even more so today!

 

They always were(and are) a team. That's why it worked so well. She trusted René because they had the same passion, the same goals and saw most things the same way. And they began at an age when she had to trust him and she never thought of changing this dynamic for years and it worked well between them obviously. That's not to say she didn't give her input always and kept her integrity throughout the years.

 

Céline has always trust René and now that they're getting older(especially René) it's normal that she wants(like almost every 40 years old woman) to take more responsibility and be informed of everything that could be important for her well being and the well being of her son, now and for their future life. Every close people around her is getting older and won't be there always unfortunately.

 

That's part of her intelligence, Céline has always trusted the right people(she seems to have a nose for that), she was bright enough to listen to others who could help her and bring her more knowledge or experience and René paid a special attention at the beginning to surround Céline with competent people and good people. Now at 40, her priorities has change and it's normal that she wants to know everything in order to be able to take charge and make the right choices for her future carreer and life.

 

Personnally, I think this tour was her choice. People who know Céline intimately always say Céline is the one who makes the most decisions in their personal life. Like she said once he wears the pants and she's the boss. She once said also René called her "the gouvernment". It's a funny way to say it but I really think it's the case. Couples for whom it works usually must share power in their relationship, she takes care of those things, he runs in other areas. And that's fine in my opinion but at one point you have to be more aware in case the other goes away. Céline has always let René be THE manager but has never been forced to do anything IMO. Experience has told her she had been right to do that and trust him. These days it's not a question of trust him less but evidently René won't be there always and she has to be aware and know about everything. I guess that's why she's interested to be more in charge, to be informed of everything, to prepare herself to be more self sufficient and not be desoriented of she loses those few people really close to her.

 

That's how I see it and I think it's very responsible and wise of her to prepare herself to have all the tools and knowledge to make sure people don't take advantage of her and her family in a bad way and be able to take care of business if and when René is not around one day to protect her and RC. As she knows and said herself knowledge is power. Many people know that and Céline knows it too. She's a lot more wise than some think.

 

That's the wise and mature woman she has become and I think that's just great to see!!! Good for her!
