You have to be sure it is no bigger than the required size (155 x155 pixels, 128 KB). You can either upload the image to an image sharing site, like ImageShack or Photobucket (I use Photobucket) or you can upload one directly from your computer. Go to "My Controls", "Edit Avatar" (on the left hand side of the control page under Personal Profile). Then you need to either paste the URL of your gif (if it's on an image sharing site) or browse for the image from your computer.

 

Let me know if any of this is not clear and I'll try to explain it better.

Also, if you want to use one of the ones posted here, right click on the one you want and select "Save Target As", then save it to your computer in a place where you can find it. Then go to "My Controls" and follow the instructions I posted for uploading one from your computer. Browse to the image you just saved to your computer and click on it. It should then show up as your avatar.

 

Hope this works for you. A couple of the ones I posted are too big for an avatar, but they are OK to use as a signature. The smaller ones were made to be avatars.
