Um, Madonna's dad is alive and very well. He owns a vineyard a few hours north of my house in Michigan. Two months ago I had the pleasure of meeting Tony Ciccone and had my pic taken with him. VERY nice, super normal guy. You'd never guess Madonna was his daughter.

Mentionning Céline during her show in Montréal ? One reason only.

To me it's just another way to manipulate the media and make people talk about her... (like we are doing here also).

In some papers and shows in Québec today people were talking and wondering what she meant and why she named Céline during her show. It doesn't seem anyone knows why exactly, people only speculate that maybe it's because Céline is her father's favorite singer(it's a known thing) or that maybe she would be jalous of her....it didn't seemed to be a compliment anyway. When people weren't involved as much as she would have wanted during her show has commented a journalist she said something like : "There is not only Céline Dion in Montréal you know!"

Madonna has always been a master manipulater able to make anyone speak about her(good or bad) she doesn't care....As we say in French : "Parlez-en en bien, parlez-en en mal mais parlez-en!!!" Translation: (Talk about me in a good way, talk about me in a bad way but talk about me). To me that's always been one of her main talent, to be a marketing genius and control freak who does things with a marketing intent most of the times. That's all she cares about IMO.

 

Talking about another artist(whoever it is) during your own show (if not to say something good) IS NOT something that should be done ever in my opinion...

Please do your thing Madonna and let people talk about what YOU have to offer!

 

P.S. I saw myself Madonna with her father on Arsenio Hall in the 90's. That's where I found out her father's favorite singer was Céline. I thought the man had great taste and I still do!!!

if you're gonna ask me, it's kind of a compliment to Celine as Sopha said. she just said "Celine Dion is not the only one who can make you scream", simply because she can do it as well. i find it funny how some of Celine's fan can take what Madonna said as an "insult" while it's obviously not at all. what's the big deal with what Madonna said? i really don't get it. we should stop overreacting.

Yes I read that also and apparently her mother spoke french....and on Thursday night Madonna said during her second show in Montréal she had French Canadian blood running through her vein.
