Are the shows selling out? I'm curious to know which ones have - which ones haven't. Any charts?

I just read that, according to Billboard all shows on the US leg of the tour have sold out- according to Wikipedia, which sites a valid source- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taking_Chance...fice_score_data

Not to discredit whatever source you have, but I find this to be incorrect for two reasons.

1) **The main reason** I just searched on Ticketmaster for tickets to the San Jose show on November 23rd. I was given the chance to buy two fifth row, floor seats.

2) Wikipedia can be edited by anybody, anytime, anywhere. All it takes is one crazed fan to go on there and re-word an article any which way they view best.

I spoke incorrectly, I meant the tickets have been sold out thus far :P

And I know about Wikipedia, and I completely agree with you. I only sited that it was cedible because it links back to the billboard site, if it was just written there without a credible source I would have blown it to the wayside.

partly true, yes - she only played one big stadium in Germany (Munich, 65,000 seats - papers report sales numbers between 16,000 and 20,000 tickets - ghosty atmosphere), the other venues were much smaller and still half empty.

she is not that popular here in Europe anymore - even less after this tour. even the die-hard-fans who I went to the Munich-"show" with said that they would never ever go again. it was not good at all.

all the playbacking, the not-existing show at the outdoor concerts, rushed through programm, old arrangements..... not that classy.

martin.... I think you're record is on repeat :whistling: :P

but I do agree that she played too many dates in Germany! She should have done one big one in Berlin and one in München or something like that!

As for the Netherlands she played in front of 50.000 people, 54.000 tickets were available.

I said the US leg of the tour.

Anyway, she still is selling really, really well either way!

And I am sad you feel that way, but not everyone does. I know I don't.

Martin it is unfortunate that the majority of her German concerts were not the "in the round" show that is so spectacular! Mind you, I don't think she is ''unpopular'' in Europe---she still sold a shitload of tickets to the majority of her European dates.....and even 16,000-20,000 for a date in Munich is nothing to sniff at, 4 or 5000 maybe but not 20,000 at premium prices. Secondly, Many who attended the outdoors shows actually loved it. Actually the majority of her European dates were the "In the Round" setting (From the Uk and France to Italy) and that left the fans very well satisfied. Edited by Kyle_Jared

Yeah I think the high prices are mostly to blame for the disappointing sales in some countries.... hopefully they have learned a lesson from this.

yes probably true - considering that only the "die-hard" fans find their way to a forum like that and express their opinion. and the die-hard-fans are easy to please cause they just admire her so much - considering that I think quite a lot of the people here expressed their dissapointment in more or less drastic words.

i can only talk about what i heared from the people i went with (friends, family - i literally "forced" everyone to come, I promised them they would love it because she was so amazing back in 99) - and nobody, clearly nobody who i talked to liked the show. me included.

given the fact that is was a flat rental stage with no show elements, small screens plus partly playback the tickets were way too high prized. but this is the disappointment afterwards. nobody was expecting that when the tickets went on sale.

we see the complete difference right now with Tina Turner - once she announced her tour they had to add more and more dates because venues sold out within hours - she sold 60,000 tickets for Munich alone within a couple of days.

i think a lot went wrong with Celines artistic direction the last ten years. singing everything from rock to dance to childrens songs shows either a lack of taste or the fact that she would sing everything just to earn a bug.

what a great time that was back in 2000 when everybody thought that Celine is the new Barbra Streisand in waiting (including Barbra herself) - her albums were classy, no "you and i" or "one heart" or other cheese in sight. the last years showed that she is lightyears away from that.

and this tour kicked her out of the first league big time. with "taking chances" they wanted to present her as a young strong woman with a modern sound (she is the same age as Gwen Stefani - unbelievable) but the only thing they dished out was old playback tapes (and an unbelievably dull "we will rock you" - to every school band you would say "come on - couldn´t you think of anything a bit less crappy") and the same old arrangements she used over and over again.

the few songs from her new album she did were really great i have to admit - it just shows how great she could be

if she would have a good artistical team behind her - but obviously she doesn´t.

I am sorry with your dissapointment in the show you atteneded and in Celine herself. I will say that I attended a show and it ties with the best concert I had ever been too. You couldn't have expected the same Celine that you saw in 1999 though! Anyway, I have heard and read that she has in most or all dates good or great ticket sales. And really a tour date or two or three in Munich and Germany that doesen't sell to it's full potential is definantly made up for in two NYC sold out shows, or the show in London, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Denmark, or Dublin [64,000 tickets outside arena] to name just a few.

the concerts in Germany might not have been sold out but they were still bigger than lots of other concerts in the world!

Frankfurt ~ 25,000

Munich ~ 20,000

Berlin ~ 19,000

+ the indoor venues that were nearly sold out

Köln + Hamburg ~ 14,000

I think that IS fantastic actually! (you have to remeber the prices were 230€ for category A!)
