Hilda Posted October 16, 2008 at 01:12 AM Posted October 16, 2008 at 01:12 AM I'm just putting up this topic coz i was just thinking about how with most celine albums I know what I'm gonna get pretty much and was just thinking about the albums of hers that have really grown on me after not connecting with them immediately. One I really didn't expect to still be listening to now with so much love and respect is D'elles. I reeeeeally love this album and its difference - if i could understand more french id prob love it even more coz of the interesting topics ha! But yeh....it grew on me soooo much and I thought i'd be completely bored of it by now but it still pops up on the ipod haha. Fave song from it is...Je Ne Suis Pas Celle!!! sooo haunting. Love it. The albums that i thought it was gonna go the way of by the way are of course Miracle (ha), a new day has come and Vegas live album. Quote
Celinesongs Posted October 16, 2008 at 02:35 AM Posted October 16, 2008 at 02:35 AM I love the Miracle CD! It is very soothing and helped me through a very difficult time when my father died. I also like "One Heart", although I don't listen to it too often. It definately grew on me. Shesings2me Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:36 AM Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:36 AM I love the Miracle CD! It is very soothing and helped me through a very difficult time when my father died. I also like "One Heart", although I don't listen to it too often. It definately grew on me. Celinesongs, I used Miracle to help send my dad off to Heaven peacefully and to bring me peace and serenity as he left. Sorry to hear that you lost your father as well, but now they're watching over us! And as far as One Heart, I've always loved that album. I find it upbeat, very fun, and just generally pleasant! Hilda, D'Elles is a gem, isn't it! My faves are ESNRQ, Les Paradis, OSAAC, and Berceuse All Celine albums "throw me" into happiness, LOL Quote http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/5273/18771156.jpg
Macaronie Posted October 16, 2008 at 07:10 AM Posted October 16, 2008 at 07:10 AM It took me ages before liking 1F&4T!! At that time I said her voice had changed, and it did, but I did not like the sound it was making. The music and production is good though. Now I can't even imagine living without Tu Nages, Mon Homme or Retiens Moi (I still do not like the guys singing though ) Quote
CellyDee87 Posted October 16, 2008 at 10:31 AM Posted October 16, 2008 at 10:31 AM (edited) It took me weeks to befriend Taking Chances, I really thought the album was crap. After about a month of listening it started to grow on me, the rest is history Taking Chances along with Falling Into You are my all time favourite Celine albums. I don't go a day without listening to TC I absolutely adore it with the exception of the snooze tracks: SOLA, ASFY Love it it's a masterpiece And I must confess, now don't stone me, I've been trying since 1992 to embrace the Celine Dion self-titled album but it just doesn't grab me like the others, maybe one day Edited October 16, 2008 at 10:32 AM by Denelle Quote
Hilda Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:16 PM Author Posted October 16, 2008 at 05:16 PM haha I am married to the Celine Dion album. yeh Miracle is quite soothing and i put it on once in a while - and i mean a whiiiiile to go to sleep haha but its nice that you could use it in that was for your fathers. destin139 Posted October 16, 2008 at 08:56 PM Posted October 16, 2008 at 08:56 PM I think 1 fille & 4 types threw me the most - i totally wasnt expecting it but the album that took me the longest to get used to was ANDHC - i dont even know why!! I love it as much as all Celin's other albums now but it was months after getting it that I could listen to it with the same love as her other albums. strange. You can't tell me you don't love the powerful Water From The Moon, or the epic Nothing Broken But My Heart songs like Did you gave enough love or halfway to heaven are masterpieces! to me it's still her most consistant english album to date When I first became a fan, the french stuff before d'eux didn't do much for me. I never really played it, but when I gave Dion Chante Plamandon a chance again, a year later when I got it, it just blew me away, the songs were so powerful and Oxygène and L'amour existe encore became and still are big favs! But recently Unison is my big love! I think I might have even played it more then TC this last year! And even though 1F4T is an amazing album, it's still an album I quite easily forget she made, cos the songs were never really performed much live Edited October 16, 2008 at 09:39 PM by Davey84 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
Scramasboy Posted October 18, 2008 at 06:17 AM Posted October 18, 2008 at 06:17 AM Though Miracle was, as stated, soothing it just wasn't my favorite. It didn't have that POW factor with me that Celine usually has. I LOVE ANDHC ALOT! I got it when I was 11 and I constantly listened to it, and still do [on wmp]! My first Celine album was All The Way and my momma got it for me for Christmas when I was *thinks* I believe 9 and it was because of My Heart Will Go On-lol- but when I listsned to the entire album, I couldn't stop playing track 14, Then You Look At Me. Taking Chances- It was slow at first because I first listened to Taking Chances and I enjoyed it but I wanted more, then I listened to My Love and I was really moved- I just fell in love with the entire album! I love all of her albums that I listened to, even if it has a "so-so" beginning. Quote http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png

Black Kitten Posted October 18, 2008 at 09:27 AM Posted October 18, 2008 at 09:27 AM (edited) for me, it's prolly D'elles and One Heart. i swear i hated D'elles. i couldn't stand playing it, and the next thing i know is im already sleeping towards the middle of the album. but not until i searched for their meaning, and the rest is history. about One Heart, i bought it a year after its release, and i didn't like almost 3/4 of the album. i immediately fell in love with Stand by Your Side, I Know What Love Is, Faith and Naked. the rest was just a filler for my taste. and then last May, my dad bought a really nice sound system. and damn i can't get enough of the rest of the album(the only track i'm still learning to love is Coulda Woulda Shoulda), but Love Is All We Need really grew on me! Frozen_Phoenix Posted October 19, 2008 at 10:21 AM Posted October 19, 2008 at 10:21 AM I also will never get to like the Celine Dion self-titled album. I think that it is her weakest by far. SuperLove4Celine Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:25 AM Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:25 AM I would say the one album of Celine's that has "thrown" me the most is A New Day...Live In Las Vegas. No, not because I didn't expect it to be live. What "threw" me was the exclusion of significant songs from the show including, but not limited to "I Surrender," "The Power Of Love" (even though it's mainly lipped it is a Celine hit), and "Ammore..." There is still close to 15 minutes of available space on the album even after taking into account the then-new songs "You And I" and "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way." I would have even settled for just having "I Surrender" added to the album. If "Contre nature" could make it onto the French editon then Sony sure as heck could have added one more song from the show. That's my two cents. - Joe Quote
celine-addict Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:31 AM Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:31 AM Taking Chances, A New Day Has Come, and Falling Into You are my absolute favorite Celine albums. I am finally starting to love One Heart though, I was definitely thrown by that album at first. Quote "TAKING CHANCES" World Tour[*] 1/30/2009 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL (BankAtlantic Center)
smw Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:34 AM Posted October 20, 2008 at 04:34 AM I suppose One Heart "threw" me the most - but for different reasons. I was used to quality with Celine. And when One Heart came out - and it had such amazingly low quality, I was really taken back. I listen to this album every now and then - because I enjoy the fact that it was so easy for her to make this album. It's really a stress-free album - because it was thrown together and she didn't have to work hard on it....at all. The only song that is impressive - is I Drove All Night. Amazing Celine vocals. But that's all the album truly offers. There are about 3 other tracks that could live on a stronger Celine album....the others, I just wish never happened. Quote
Davey84 Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:16 AM Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:16 AM the LIL album never really got to me, the only songs I like to play are NB, IDAN, YAI and AGLTOW! the rest is just... blah! they should have recorded it when Céline wasn't recovering from a flue or something! And like Joe said, it's a shame I surrender didn't make it, or Seduces me! celinedion1 Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:40 AM Posted October 20, 2008 at 07:40 AM Albums that Ididnt connect with right away and now love are: the french album- when i first got the album i was young, didnt know a lick of french and found it very different from her english albums. After a few listens I fell in love with it, and I now think that it's one of her greatest. Quote
