[REQ] Andy Warhol Style Celine Pic

Hello All,

I was just wondering if any of you were able to help me. I'm currently looking at getting a large canvas printed for my room and I'm not big on posters or really bright colours. My settings are quite neutral beige and stuff so what I had envisioned was getting was an Andy Warhol style Celine canvas made, currently I've had no luck finding anything and I have no idea how to do it on photoshop. I'm after either a pic containing 9 or 4 smaller pics in neutral beige colours and it would be blown up, details can be as minimal as possible I'm just struggling to find something like this or to have one made and I thought what better place than the experts in the Celine graphics department

I'm not too fussed on what kind of Celine pic it is, I thought the Taking Chances shoot with the big hair could be striking, but I'm open to any ideas, opinions and feedback. Any help is graciously appreciated

i saw this thread and immediately something came up in my mind. this was an Illustrator technique i just learnt this past Monday. something like this maybe? i havent tweaked the colour much and there are a million possibilities to it

Denelle hun, i didnt read the part where you wanted neutral beige the first time blur me here's the 4 pic version with diff parts of Celine blown up. i can get it saved in vector form since you want to have it printed on a large canvas

And Peggi once again, amazing stuff, I'm not really into the bright colours but the images you've created look amazing I love the ones in the first post. And yes they are very "Andy"

 

What do you guys think of a shot from the D'elles shoot maybe I'm so open to opinions you guys are amazing. Thank you so much! I can't thank you enough, I'm so excited to get this canvas done, I'll have to post a pic when its ready

Denelle, I know you just posted that you didn't like the bright colors, but I just found a pretty decent tutorial on how to achieve Andy Warhol effects in Photoshop and I gave it a try. I can change the color scheme and use the photo from the D'Elles shoot, but what do you think of the effect. Should I try it again using more neutral colors, but acheive the same effect for the D'Elees photo?

Plus this is in 300 dpi, and CMYK color so it is made to print out. When I zoomed into it in Photoshop, it looked pretty good.

The work you've done Peggi with the coloured ones would go fantastic as screen savers too, I just used it as my desktop You are an absolute whiz with the Photoshop!!!

Thanks very much, Denelle. You say the sweetest things. Here, I've tried another one with the D'elles photo with more neutral colors. The problem is finding enough combinations of neutral colors to give it some contrast when using multiples of the same photo. But I followed the tutorial again, so I'm beginning to get the hang of it. Let me know what you think about this one.

The other problem is this is done in CMYK color which is really for printing as opposed to RGB which is more suited for the web. The colors changed slightly when I uploaded it to Photobucket. She did not look so green in the original. I may have to play with the color scheme in RGB instead of CMYK. But let me know if you want me to work on this one a little.

I think they look great, probably still a bit bright for the room though I can't tell you how much I appreciate these The colour I envisioned is pretty much the same as what Krys had done in her second post in this thread, like beige, gold, pale brown, chocolate and like a deep plum. The D'elles pic looks fantastic too, there are a millions pieces of beautiful art you could make with Celine's face

I fiddled with this on the laptop I'm using at night when I'm not at work. I couldn't use the original psd file, because that's on my work computer, but I downloaded the jpg of the last pic I posted from my Photobucket site and played with it in GIMP to tamp down the colors a bit. Here is the result of that. Perhaps these colors are more to your liking, less bright, more neutral. If I had the original file here, it would have been a bit easier, I think. Anyway, here is the latest rendition:

Denelle, I got to the original file and worked on this some more. I saved it in RGB mode, so the colors should post correctly on the web. The original file is huge, so hopefully, if you print out a large size, you won't lose the resolution. I have posted it on my deviantart website. I can't embed it here, but here is the link to the website. Click on the picture and the full size picture should appear. I hope you like this rendition. I think it's a bit better than the last one and it is huge.

Here's the image from photobucket. They limit the size to 1024 x 768, but at least you can get an idea of the color scheme.

I had a ton of fun doing this and I learned a new Photoshop skill, so if you have any more requests, just let me know. I'd be thrilled stupid to so some more.

 

If you want the original file with the CMYK colors for printing out, I might be able to post it on a file share site, so you can download the actual CMYK file. Just let me know.

Thank you, Denelle. I did have a blast with these. It took some fiddling, but I did learn a new technique that may come in handy in the future.

 

Do you want me to upload the CMYK file to a file share site so you can download it for possible printing (if you like it, that is)? I can send you the link and you could get the original CMYK, 300 dpi file, which is made for printout and it would be a pretty good size, too. Just let me know. And I'm glad you like it.

Peggi, I'm really going to show my computer illiteracy here and ask... but what is CMYK and 300 dpi? Wherever the image is easily accessible is fine by me, is it too large to send as an email attachment?

i'll save Peggi the trouble and tell you what are CMYK and 300 dpi briefly

 

there are two types of colour for printing when working with graphics on the computer. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key{Black}) and RGB (Red, Green, Blue). basically when you wanna print stuff like pics on canvas/poster, the printer uses CMYK method to print it in colour. unlike your normal printer, the CMYK method uses 4 different metal plates to transfer the colour onto whatever medium you're printing on.

 

300 dpi means 300 dots per inch printers print in dots. the higher the dpi, the clearer the print out. for example a 72 dpi image would look like a pop art work on a large canvas instead of a nice smooth picture

Krys, thanks for that very succinct explanation of CMYK.

 

Denelle, it's not too big to email to you. I can send you two versions. One I just applied a sharpen to in Photoshop. Not much different from the original, just a little crisper on the edges.

 

PM me with your email and I send you both files. One is 4.2 Mb, the other (sharpened) is 6.0 Mb. I can email up to 20Mb of file. What's your email limit? I can send in two separate files if you want. Just let me know.

This is an awesome idea, it's funny i just did a big research assignment on Andy Warhol and his silk screening, and i was actually thinking of doing one of Celine when i had the extra time. these are all really well done (didn't really read any of the messages, so forgive me if i say something that you've already explained) but i don't think any are vector images so it would be really blurry once printed out on a big canvas. i am working on a quick one in Illustrator since it's vector and can be blown up to any size and still be sharp. lol but we haven't learned how to do silk screen so it may not turn out good.

Ok thanks for letting me know like i said i didn't read any other comments, just looked at the pics briefly. i just know i used to do everything on photoshop through filters, and that wouldn't really work out.

 

By the way, i love your second one!
