Today I was wondering if anybody knows what her brothers and sisters do for a liven.? I know here brother works w/ her.not sure who else does.

Céline has always made a couple of cover songs in her shows over the years...Aretha's song Natural woman or one of Elton Johns(don't remember the title exactly right now). Just like us she loves many songs of other singers and it's a treat for her to cover a couple on her live shows. As for this tour, I read that the show must go on from Freddy Mercury was René's suggestion and idea because he saw common things between those too and that he tought Céline could sing it great. As for the medley of James Brown I read it was Jamie King's idea. He wanted Céline to be able to show the world she could sing other kind of music especially soul music as well.

 

I guess if Céline wants to sings other kind of songs also and changes a little of what she offers her fans and the public in the upcoming years she has to show her audience and critics she's able to do a lot more than just pop ballads. If she wants to attrack other kind of songs from songwriters also. Céline does'nt look in the past, she's in the present and looks forward to the future. As she says the best is yet to come. She still has a lot of dreams and things she wants to do. I can't blame her to try to make her tour more interesting to her singing new and fresh songs and songs she likes. I heard Céline said once that she did songs they thought people wanted to hear not necessarely songs of hers she likes the most. She's always been the kind of singers who wants to please her audience and fans.

 

As for her brothers and sisters, Claudette has been a singer, took care of her family and than has this idea some years ago to form a group with members of her family and do shows. Some join the group of holiday shows and than had to go back to work. In recent years they remain a group of three family members, a trio. Claudette is singing with sister Ghyslaine(former Céline background singer in early years) and brother Daniel(a shy one in the family who battle cancer recently). They are singing all over Québec where they are asked(at Montréal Casinos during holiday times for many years now). They're called "Le Dion show". They sing songs of their youth and gospel, blue, country, folk, a lot of french songs. From Michel Sardou to Zachary Richard or Patsy Cline to the Beatles. As for the others I have not gotten recent news about them. Clément use to take care of Céline's estate, Pauline who has 6 children and use to take care of Céline fanclub in the early 90's was working in recent years at some children place. Manon use to do Céline's hair and is still with them everywhere. I guess she's an assistant to Céline now. We all know what Michel does and Linda the goodmother of RC is with them also. Paul(the twin of Pauline) takes care and is the president of Maman Dion's foundation and charity work. I think others are retired or house wifes or have jobs I don't remember or know about.

It was my opinion or what I had read about it! Of course you don't have to agree with me but as a moderator, I'm sorry to say I find you give your opinions in a rude way.

 

The fact that they tried songs and decided to left them out(for reasons you and I know nothing about) doesn't prove anything IMO eventhough it seems to fit what you believe to be true. I just repeated what I have read. Unfortunately we don't know what was their reason to retain or leave some of those. What was said or read is one thing, our opinion is another and the truth behind all this is unknown IMO. We can only speculate...which can be fun don't get me wrong.

 

Many people say they like Fade away, than again on youtube everyone critizes it and it's not very much viewed. She sang Tout l'Or des hommes and a lot of people critizise it also. L'amour existe encore is a must in Québec, don't even have to think about it. Just like Ziggy was a must in France I guess or Think twice in UK. Shadow of love was kept almost everywhere on tour but from this forum I read many people saying it got a very cold reaction on her shows. All those reasons have to be taken into account also I guess when they are making a set list that they think will please each particular audience around the world and that Céline is comfortable with on tour.
