amyja89 Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:34 AM Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:34 AM (edited) Hey guys. I'm going to New York in February for a five day holiday with my best friend, and as a Christmas/Birthday present for her I want to buy her and myself tickets to see Wicked on Broadway. My question is.... seeing as I live in the UK and therefore am registered to the UK TicketMaster site, is it possible to buy tickets from the US site? Like if I bought the tickets from there would I be able to pay with my card and then somewhere in money-bank-cyberspace the money be exchanged from pounds to dollars? I'm just wondering this because given the current exchange rate it would be much cheaper for me to buy the tickets in dollars. Has anyone ever done this? Either from UStoUK or UKtoUS? Any feedback would be grately appreciated, I emailed TicketMaster a few days ago but nothing from them so far. I want to buy the tickets soonish to ensure decent seats! Love, Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:46 AM Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:46 AM (edited) How E X C I T I N G !!! I think I have a solution. Perhaps, you should call the Gershwin Theatre box office at +1 212 307 4100, use your credit card over the phone, and have them hold your tickets for you at Will Call. amyja89 Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:58 AM Author Posted October 6, 2008 at 08:58 AM Thanks Soph! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm going to hold out a little longer and wait to see if anyone knows whether I can just do it over the computer... Purely because I'm lazy and it could only take about 3 clicks! P.S. I've decided, based on your previous review, that if I can't get any decent Wicked tickets I'm going to go for The Lion King instead! Quote
Annalicious Posted October 6, 2008 at 02:05 PM Posted October 6, 2008 at 02:05 PM I think you should be fine. I bought tickets to see Celine in Montreal with my US credit card via TicketMaster and they did the conversion for me. Quote
Love, Posted October 6, 2008 at 02:25 PM Posted October 6, 2008 at 02:25 PM (edited) If you wanna have some fun, you should try the ticket lottery! There's a chance you can get front row seats for $25 each. Edited October 6, 2008 at 02:25 PM by Love, Quote

I saw Wicked in London Brilliant !!!!! I just bought the tickets! Had to set up an account on the US site, but no hassle. I'm going to see Wicked in London on Oct 27th and then in NY on Feb 19th, I it. I just wish I had discovered it before Idina Menzel retired the role of Elphaba. Quote
