I mean, what are almost 8 year old boy into nowadays? and does he speak English? I know it the extras part of AND DVD he speaks french. WHICH IS ADORABLE

 

But i was putting together a package for Celine and a card for Rene and I wanted to include Rene CHarles but HAD NO IDEA... I know Celine said he use to love elmo but that was years ago!

he likes the wii, too. I have no idea what you could give him that he doesn't already have. I mean it's a nice idea, but I don't know if whatever you did would get to him... I imagine Celine and Rene would try to shield him as much as possible from Celine's fanbase. If you were a little kid would you want strangers going crazy over you for no reason? It must get scary for him sometimes... sorry I'm ranting. Basically I think it would be best if you didn't include RC

I understand your point Mych. On the same token, do you think the gifts that fans give Celine :hearts, flowers, frogs etc isn't something she already has or can buy herself? It isn't about WHAT you give someone, but the thought behind it. Also, some of the gifts given to Celine may never reach her either, lol. But we have no control over that.

 

My thought was that as RC you see your Mom getting gifts constantly and I think he would beam at someone thinking about him too! Just to say, you are awesome

And i totally get your point for those of you who thought it isnt a good idea.

 

In no way would i want to frighten RC or step on their parenting methods. But if I were a little kid and saw my mom being ooed and ahed over and always getting things, I think it would be cool to get a pack of car stickers or a little toy car. I mean, if he doesnt want it then thats cool but every kid loves to get stuff for no reason.

 

Its just nice to think of those who sacrifice and never get credit for it- even though he's 7 and really doesnt understand anything yet.. lol

 

I mean I may decide not to in the end.. but i wanted to include the whole family in my package.. kind of a thank you to everyone..

Apparently RC loves very simple and unexpensive stuff anyways, just like most kids do at his age. That's what a Québec's toys shop told journalists when they visited recently. RC chose simple things he liked and had fun with his parents like any other family would do.

 

Recently a journalist ask René how RC perceives the fact that many people recognize him now and all. René said that he wasn't aware of that really, like any other kids he only thinks about playing and those kind of things. He knows his mother is a star but he's a normal and happy 7 1/2 years old kid with interest of his own age. Céline said in an interview that RC was very critic and always told her the truth when he attends one of her shows. He always tells her if she mess up lyrics sometimes. "Mom, you mess up on the verse....".

The interview with René was on a TVA program called "Sucré-Salé" (no video that I know of) and the interview with Céline where she talks about RC telling her when she did not sing the right lyrics is somewhere on youtube(????). It was an interview done in Europe with a woman journalist who interviewed René also before Céline. They also talked about their early love story... Don't know where it is sorry....I'll post it if I find it back.

 

As for the question asking about RC talking in english, he is homeschooled(or tour schooled if you want ) in english since the beginning. He speaks french with Céline and family but goes to school in english. I guess he's surrounded with people who speaks other languages too being on tour for the last year but we know at least he'll be billingual(french and english).

I was talking to Jeremy in Manchester and he said that Rene-Charles can speak English...he's slower at it (after all, he's only 7) but he can understand everything you say to him.

The thing about being homeschooled in english was in Journal de Montréal, RC's teacher gave an interview.

Sorry, maybe at times my english isn't that good. About Céline saying it on Oprah I meant the time she was on with René and RC(when she presented RC to the public). Oprah asked Céline if they were talking to him in french only. At the time Céline said that yes they were only talking to him in french(the same way she answered Oprah before in a previous program in LV with Céline also) but the second time I'm talking about Céline added that RC would go to school in english(that she had already decided where he would go and everything). So right from that time we knew he would learn english for sure....and then the interview with RC's teacher.....and Céline talking about it on tour (interviews in Europe on youtube and Access Hollywood).

I'm sure you're right about the Yan Lan show but that's not the one I was talking about. I've listen to another interview Céline(and René) did in Europe where Céline said RC told her that she messed up some words in a song. The woman interviewer then said : Your son knows all your songs? to which Céline replied : The ones he likes! I don't find it anymore on youtube but if and when I do I'll post it here for sure. That was a cute interview.
