Michael Crawford & Phantom of the Opera fans

Are there any phans of Michael Crawford & Phantom of the Opera here? I'm a huge phan of Michael Crawford.. I've been a fan for 7 years now; I love him as the Phantom. Michael helped me to make a turn around in my educational life. I quit high school several years ago; I felt very discouraged about taking the GED tests. I decided to write him a letter about my problems I was having. Two or three months later, I got a reply. He encouraged me to get my GED. He told me I would do brilliantly on the test, and that I could do it. He was right; I passed the test with flying colors. Now, I am in college working towards a degree in Computers.

 

He's currently working on a new show for PBS and a follow on tour; I can't wait!!

 

I saw Phantom of the Opera about 3 years ago in Atlanta at the Fox theatre. It was wonderful!!! It was one of the best shows I've been to.

Hi, AngelofMusic98 (Lisa)!! I, too, am a Michael Crawford fan. I first saw him in "Hello, Dolly" with Barbra Streisand in 1969. I thought he was marvelous. I haven't seen Phantom of the Opera, but I have seen scenes of it with him and, I agree, he was wonderful. I'm so glad that he inspired you to turn your life around. It was so nice of him to write you back. Not many celebrities of his stature would take the time to do that. It makes me think even more of him.

 

You go, girl, and good luck in your chosen field of computers. I wish computers were available when I was in school (graduated from high school in 1967) because that's what I would have gone into in a heartbeat. I spend all my time on computers now, especially computer graphics.

I grew up with my mum playing the phantom of the opera theatre recording every sunday afternoon for years.Which has left me loving the show!!

I do like Michael crawford and couldnt believe the transformation he went through to become such a great singer.I also grew to like Sarah Brightman through this show too.

Did you ever watch/listen to him in Barnum too?

Michael is a very caring and sweet person to his fans. I have received many autographs from him. I am very happy he wrote me 3 years ago. I owe him so much for what he did for me. I hope my dream about meeting him will come true soon. It would mean the world to me.

Michael's voice sure has changed since Hello Dolly. Have you've seen him in Some Mothers Do Ave Em? It was a 70s British sitcom.

 

 

I love Barnum. I have the dvd.

 

I'm also a huge fan of Sarah too. I saw her in concert about 4 years ago.

The British are clever and subtle. Of course, my favorite Brit comedians of all time were Monty Python's Flying Circus. We still get reruns here in the States on BBC America and I still think they are absolutely hysterical!!

Oh my Peggi,you so have to watch 'some mothers do have 'em ' it is real classic british comedy Barnum is a stage show and he was VERY good in this too.

 

Yes Lisa i have probably watched every single episode! we have a channel here in the UK that replays a lot of older comedy series and this is on a lot
