Don't wanna blame Celine or Rene but if they wanted and Sony don't

the could afford to shoot a video for My Love from their pockets...

Have all the Sony hating people stopped to think that this actually is not Sonys decision, it is Celines managements decision. If Celine and Rene wanted to record a real video they wouldve done so. If you have issues with how she is managed you should take it up with Rene.

I don't get it! We've seen her perform this song a lot better, and act it a lot better. As much as I love seeing her perform, to make a video out of it, especially when it's a slow song, so not much dancing or moving around, it's boring. At least they could've added clips from her world tour, like they did with Eyes On Me.... And I thought that was bad

Anyway.... it's a shame, because it's such a great song and it deserved a fair chance at being played on TV.

I love the perfomance itself, I think it was great, but I'm really fed up with Celine's music videos of that kind. You know, she's not THE ONLY ONE artist who's so terribly busy. There are some others... And somehow they manage to shoot some videos. Even if they are crap.

for sony is easy to get money without doing anything... they simply get richer using Celine..... taking the tape from a concert and turning it into a official video is the simplest thing......... all Celine's performances of My Love are breathless, but however, much creativty is needed to promote the song

I do understand Celine may well not have had the time to do a shoot, but they could have done something a bit more creative with the tonnes of footage they must have from the tour.

at least they didnt dub the radio version over the live one

 

if they only hired some actors making a little movie, and celine just standing for a green screen and singing... how difficult!?

the video for Zora Sourit is very simple, but at the same time so beautiful because of the videostory...

Alone and Eyes On Me weren't live versions... cause they weren't live at all.

Well it's much clearer or plays smooher on amazon for me and I think this is a great performance- she sounds great

I once again have to stress that whoever decided to shoot the DVD on this night should be shot and hung on his balls upside down from the tallest tree.

 

Her vocals are tired, lifeless and choppy along with some really shaky notes. It's like bad luck. Every DVD of hers leaves much to be desired vocally. [fred] They will never learn. [/fred]

I think there is one evident spot where her voice is shaky: "I will STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANd tall...to GET by" @ 4:00. Most evident example of tired vocals.

 

But I ain't blaming her for having a vocal day, off, stevo. She's a fighter, she may have as many of them as she wants but I do certainly know that it's a rarity for her to have bad vocals day during this tour at all! Yet they somehow have managed to catch one of such rare days on tape which I find highly unfortunate.

I suppose it sucks cos they have it all arranged for the DVD recording so it's all up to Celine to deliver- it'd be a big hassle to rearrange etc to film another venue, date etc

If the point is to promote the single then wouldn't make much more sense to send the live version to the radios also? Or do a video with the studio track they sent to the radios?

 

I'm not an expert in marketing or promotion... but this doesn't make any sense to me.

My guess is the shakiness comes from that someone told her it would sound more emoshunal. I'd prefer another music video over this as well. The worst thing is that it is so obvious how staged the whole thing is. Please follow the "My Love choreography": sit on piano - look left - look right - look emoshunal - spread arms - look right - look left - get off piano - walk to point x - look emoshunal - raise arm - walk to point y - walk to point z - go down on knees - look emoshunal - look up - make babyface eye - exit" Calculated emoshun
