Does anyone know if Celine spends any time with her band when not performing?

 

I was thinking earlier that whilst on tour, Celine has her own jet, has a different hotel etc and the only time she seems to spend with her band is when they are performing. I wonder if Celine socialises with her band at anytimes?

 

Anyone got any ideas?

I Read somewhere that once in a while they do have lunch or dinner together, before and after concerts. and of cource there are afterparties like the final concert in vegas. I'm sure they will have another party in Canada for the final concert.

Yes I read that too. She has lunch with them before the show sometimes and sometimes she eats alone doing her makeup at the same time.(like we saw in AND dvd). Of course they spend time on soundchecks too.

Also, in the recent documentary "Loyauté et fraternité en tournée" Céline's brother Michel said that on this tour Céline has started a new thing. Apparently she gives a little party for all of them when they finish a big city. He said in the documentary that they just had one after Paris shows for example.

 

I know for Céline and René the band is like family. I read Paul Picard saying recently that he didn't know how to tell Céline and René he wanted to leave the Vegas show to do some personal projects of his own. He was so very happy to tell that they said to him...you do it if you want to do that and you come back whenever you like because you know Paul, you're family. He seemed very happy and proud for their support and loyalty. They look for their well being, like Lapin said they want everyone to feel good. They show their appreciation also in many ways. Céline said(in the same documentary) that now she needs them for her personal happiness too.

This week I listened to a bunch of Celine-related ones, including this one with Barnev.

 

 

It's a long interview, in French, from Oct'2020. He talks about his work with Celine a number of times - about how he got the job, about meeting Prince and Michael Jackson through her, and about how it was tough to see her suffer after Rene passed. Has nothing but lovely things to say about her and Rene, both.

I read somewhere recently where Barnev said the band members actually do check up on her periodically. I can't imagine after the many many years some of the band have been working with her, that they would just drift apart just because she can't work. Celine seems to treat her band like family. And I have heard many times that she it nothing like your typical boss. I remember one time she said Elyse is like a sister to her. And she has always been very supportive of Barnev's other projects. They must be keeping some connections. Céline always cared for them and they for Céline. It would be weird to think that they just didn't talk over 4 years. Well at least, they were together for residenncy rehearsal i guess.

I saw Celine's backup singer Barnev singing on TV for Canada Day for a CBC concert. He sang along with some artists and also sung backup for Jann Arden and others. It was so strange to see him singing without Celine. It was still nice to see him though.

I think I heard the lead single a few months back, I actually enjoyed it a lot. Then YouTube showed me all the projects he's been a part of over the years with other artists, quite a side career for him!
