trls Posted September 20, 2008 at 12:14 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 12:14 AM Did you know the song "I don't wanna miss a thing" from the movie Armageddon and "there you'll be" from Pearl Harbor were first offered to Celine, but she refused them. I think she should of took them because their great songs and she would of been the artist with the most original songs from movie soundtracks. Quote

CelineTheBest5 Posted September 20, 2008 at 12:33 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 12:33 AM "There You Will Be" song is true, she refused it cause she would stop in 1999 and she couldn't promove the song. The other song I dont know if its true. Quote https://www.facebook...linedionbrazil/
Black Kitten Posted September 20, 2008 at 01:30 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 01:30 AM don't know about I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, but i've heard about There You'll Be.and i think Unbreak My Heart (later recorded by the great Toni Braxton) was first offered to celine as well. Quote
scorp82 Posted September 20, 2008 at 04:20 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 04:20 AM "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" was offered to Celine? I did not know that... If that's true, I'm amazed Celine turned the song down... I wonder why. Then again, she wanted to turn down MHWGO. LOL. Then again, I have always wondered how "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" would have sounded had Celine recorded the song. At any rate, I am sure it would have been great! On the other hand, Carole King wrote "The Reason" and it was intended for Aerosmith, but Celine ended up recording the song! Dhena, I did not know Celine was also offered "Unbreak My Heart"... Once again, I think the recording would have great as well. But I guess it was to Toni Braxton's advantage that Celine turned the song down, LOL. Quote

idroveallnight Posted September 20, 2008 at 04:51 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 04:51 AM Yes, it's true. This song was first offered to Celine by Diane Warren. Did you know Diane Warren is actually a very sick-minded, twisted individual who writes the same sappy love songs that you hear from many famous artists? This is according to one of Diane's friends. I remember hearing it on the radio a while back. Quote
celine_rox Posted September 20, 2008 at 06:40 AM Posted September 20, 2008 at 06:40 AM i dont want to miss a thing is not for celine's voicebut there youll be would have been nice Quote
celínico_sin_remedio Posted September 20, 2008 at 01:23 PM Posted September 20, 2008 at 01:23 PM i dont want to miss a thing is not for celine's voice Specially the last part of the song...when Aerosmith makes that sound à la 'That's Just the Woman in me'... But TJTWIM proves that if IDWMAT would have been ofered to Celine nowadays... she could have wonderfully sung it... Sorry for going a little bit off topic on this : but I love the film Armageddon! Couldn't help. Quote "No matter where you are, reach for your own star to realize the power of the dream" From miss Céline Dion to the world those with a will to listen, and not just hear
Chula Posted September 20, 2008 at 02:17 PM Posted September 20, 2008 at 02:17 PM 'My Heart Will Go On' was first offered to Barbra as well. But I don't think 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' was given to Celine at first!!! Quote

But I don't think 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' was given to Celine at first!!! omg. Did not know that. Thank god Celine got the song and not Barbara, Its weird to imagine what could of been!!!!!!!!!!! Barbara must of been slightly ticked off Quote http://i66.tinypic.com/2dk08jn.gifRIP Rene Angelil xx Sending Love and Prayers to Celine
destin139 Posted September 20, 2008 at 09:31 PM Posted September 20, 2008 at 09:31 PM I guess that maybe Celine did not want to become known as "the singer who sings epic movie soundtracks" - its understandable, although there you'll be would have sounded awesome recorded by Celine! Maybe it was just a little too similar to Titanic for Celine to sing the theme to Pearl Harbor aswell! Quote http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww171/destin139/Celine2.jpg
Chula Posted September 21, 2008 at 05:29 AM Posted September 21, 2008 at 05:29 AM Why didn't Celine want to be the Soundtrack Queen? It wasn't her goal? Quote
