neener00200 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 For those of you that have had tickets on the floor in the first few rows (not counting TC tickets), did you buy them when the tickets went on sale, or right before the concert? I know sometimes ticketmaster will hold back seats for whatever reason, and then release them the week of the concert. Celine is coming to San Diego, and I need to get tickets, but don't know when to do so. I already bought my 2 TC tickets for Aneheim, since I thought that was the closest she was coming to San Diego. I'm the type that will buy tickets as soon as they go on sale to get the best seats, but if others have gotten great seats at the last minute then I might wait. TIA for any responses. Oh, and what's the closest anyone has gotten to the stage w/ TC seats? Not the platinum/gold etc packages, just the floor TC seats? The closest I could get for Aneheim was 8th row. I've seen several reviews on here of fans in the 1st & 2nd rows, and am just wondering how lucky (or broke ) you had to be.... Quote

People flip them for a pretty dollar. Quote
neener00200 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Thanks, Diana....that's what I was afraid of. Where do they get their front row tickets from? Ticketmaster? Quote
autumnskies00 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 When I got my front row seat, I found it was much cheaper to get it off of ticketexhange. I believe when they first go on sale front row is reserved for the hot sound packages which are $1000ish. I got mine for $400 so I would say wait and find your best price on ticketexhange. DianaLuts Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Thanks, Diana....that's what I was afraid of. Where do they get their front row tickets from? Ticketmaster? I guess. sometimes there tix on TE even BEFORE there are tickets on TM. Quote
SarahJB5 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I have always had better luck waiting actually. I just recently decided to go back to Toronto to see Celine and I ended up with 2nd row...the best seats that TC gave me were 9th or 10th row. celinefan96 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I just got my tickets a little over a week ago for the Detroit show and I'm in the 5th row on the floor. 2 days earlier all that was on ticketmaster was 300 section and then the water parted apparently. A friend of mine sees like every concert there is and actually told me the best day to get tickets is the day of the show when the business executives decide they don't want their front row tickets. I, however, couldn't wait that long or I would have had an ulcer! I don't know if that really answered your question but just wanted to share in my frustration. I really thought the concert was next to sold out, which wasn't true. I'm glad they save tickets for people like me who did wait but was nerve wracking for a while. ~Melissa Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I got my front row seats for the San Jose show through TeamCeline. I bought them the minute they went on sale. So, to answer your questions, I think it's really all a matter of luck and/or fate. - Joe Quote
ashleylovesceline Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I bought tickets for another show when they first went on sale, and got 7th row. Then I searched about a week after they'd gone onsale at other nearby show, I got a seat up in the first level -- then I searched again, and I got front row. So it's either a matter of luck, or the best seats are not released when the go onsale. I didn't question it and just bought them! Quote
MPooh Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I bought 4 first row tickets the day before the concert on admission.com for one of the shows in Montreal. I was very lucky. Good luck!! Quote
crispyscool Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 bought a 2nd row floor ticket 2 days before the first montreal show! Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I'd really like to know how to go about this as well...before I pay $950 for what I'm wanting, because thats how much they are right now. Celinenvegas Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Every show is different, basically it's a crap shoot. If those hot sound package seats do not sell they go back into inventory for anyone to buy. It's usually the week of the show but it could be as close as a few days before. There's no guarantee, u just gotta try your luck. I've also read that people went to the venue without tix and bought last minute from scalpers who couldn't seel their tix and just took whatever was offered. So that could be a last resort for u. neener00200 Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Thanks to everyone for their imput. Does Ticketmaster even sell tickets online the day of the event? Or do you have to go to the venue? And any insider ideas on why floor seats in San Diego are $254!?!?!?!?!? Most of the other shows are $150-$185....even Los Angeles and Orange County (Anaheim) are only $185 for floor, and the cost of living is the same here as there. What were tickets for MSG? New York is the only place I can think of that would be more expensive... Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Buying last min from a scalper outside the venue is something I would NEVER do... For one, they may be fake, and two, I have to have mine in hand before I go...but thats just me Quote http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2765/48940711.png "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." stevethefan Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Lately I'm beginning to think it's better to wait until the last minute to buy tickets. I bought my DC ticket the day before the show on regular Ticketmaster and it was a better seat then the one's I was offered two weeks before. Sometimes they release other tickets after the original release date. There are always SOME tickets available, even if they say it's sold out. Quote
jenceline Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I ended up buying 1st row center seats to the 9/18 show 2 days before on ticketexchange via ticketmaster and it was the best decision I've made. I had bought 15th row when they first went on sale, and I've never had any luck getting really close with teamceline tickets. I was shocked the seats were available ($285 each) and decided to go for it...the only catch was the seller was selling the set of 4 tickets together, which was pricey but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
