Which label would you like Céline to be co-operating with?

I kind agree with you Barbara, she is kinda on the same level as Barbra Streisand, but her albums are still full of hits, if they are released in the right way, with a good video and proper promo. Céline doesn't and musn't be just an album singer!

Sony are irritating for sure. But since all the artists I like are on Sony, I don't know anything about the other options. Maybe Sony is the lesser of all evils? I have no idea! Her own record company would be great, but also a lot of work, and I keep getting the impression that she wants to work less (and have Rene work less), not more!

It is such a sad news hearing Celine would end contract to SONY. but since she doesn't get the publicity she do need uncer SONY i guess something huge company would do.

You are not alone. She should stay with Sony. They launched her career and have been with her through it all. She can't start a new relationship with a label this far in her career. Also, live nation is not a label. They don't produce records, they just promote/produce tours. Live Nation does the same thing as AEG Live (who is currently promoting Celine's tour). Labels hire concert promoters like AEG or Live Nation to do the promo for them.

 

Plus Universal has just as many artists as Sony. I doubt she would get much more personalized attention than she is already getting. I think if she left Sony then her best move would be to have her own label. Although I don't think we can expect to see many changes as her career is winding down (As hard as it is to think about!) and I don't think there will be many more albums/tours after this one.

 

Sony has unmerged with BMG as well. So who knows...this could be good news.

I would also like to add, that I think we are all putting all of the blame on Sony when they are not the only people making the decisions in Celine's career. Celine and Rene both have the ability of saying 'we want more promo' or 'we want another GH album' etc. The artists work with the label to decide TOGETHER whatever they think is best for their album.

I agree. Better for Celine to stay with Sony. I mean she's one of the top priority artist list though there's a fact that Sony does not give so much to Celine's career nowadays. Maybe and because of there's so many artist/singer they handle now.

At the very first, I have to say that I hope this thread won't be closed or moved or even deleted coz it may be offensive (asking our faithful diva to leave a record company where she has been for almost "the whole English career") and repetitive since so many of us has beening talking about this issue for quite a while.

 

I just feel so emotionl and badly wanna a totally new topic/thread to make sure everyone here could share their opinions merely on "Celine and Sony, and Rene..." at this moment esp. the up-coming release of "My Love - essential collection".

Most of us have been a Celine fan years, more than a decade, and I believe that we've never been more disappionted about what Sony did/doing to Celine than before.I read through the thread of "ML ....collection",every post in every night,from the very beginning till today, I was even so thilled about a new single of Celine that I shared this news on our Chinese fans forum,but now,I just had nothing more to say,coz, there would be no surprises from Sony any more (except Celine made more money for them againg!!)

For years ,we follow her, we support her, we remermber all the details of every show, we are all more familar with the songs than the staff,we collect all the information of charts and we could point out the wrong facts in everything related to her. although we can do little to her career, we do care about her! When we talk about her change, her chances yet to be taken, all the promotion, we mean it,we are taking seriously,therefore,even if most of us don't work in this industry, our opinions definitey worth listening!

I onced imagined if any of us fans could work in Sony, work for her, he/she would desperately tell her what we are thinking about her, her music and her carrer! but it seems that no staff around her would do this, it seems that all the people working for her esp. those seniors just don't listen, they only know market and sales(maybe even not now...),they would never think about Celine herself as a singer, a talented great singer, no love for her, potential? rock?R'n B? come on, it not their business coz they have no idea whether those changes can make money......

so all they do is to be safe---ballad again and again

to be rich---shows all the same

and to save---no videos any more

...

 

and a little complain to Rene,

you are perfect for the early years of Celine,

but,what about having a rest,and let others to manage her,

those younger and more versatile...

and you can still be a consultant coz you live with her!!!

and just let her go~~

 

It's a kind request or just a small wish but from heart and soul,

CELINE, please leave Sony, enjoy some fresh air, I'm sure there gonna be a lot of places to go and they would amazingly do better music and promotions for you!!!

 

at least, I hope this thread could be "higher" than the essential collection one on this forum,coz This is more important than that!!
