A New Day Has Come (album)

I was wondering if anyone knows if A New Day Has Come is still produced not to work on PC/Mac. I would like to purchase this album but the picture on Amazon has the label in the bottom corner saying it won't play on PC!

I never understood why an audio CD would not play on a computer... I'm just curious on any info on this too.

One of Sony's lastest technology of the time. Just like they screwed up on the North American ONCP discs.

Any current copies that are pressed are to not include the copy-protected software that Sony/BMG burned onto the previous discs (at least in the U.S.). A court ruled it was against the law and that Sony had to pay big fines for it, as well as include a spot on their website to help assist people to remove the viral software from their hard drives.

 

However, if there are any copies that are still in wherehouses those CAN be sold because they were produced PRIOR to the court's ruling. Therefore, just be very careful which link you buy from. If the one you posted on here shows a picture of a copy with the copy-protection software on it I'd pass. Keep digging. Sometimes Amazon has imported versions without the software 10-20 pages into their site. I've found LOADS of good deals from various artists by going to the further in pages.

I hate that blimmin copy protection thing. In my opinion, it was absolutely criminal!!! If people are going to pirate media, chances are they would never have gone out and bought the CD in the first place. It was only used to punish those who did the right thing. Thankfully my copy of 'A New Day Has Come' never had any copy protection on it. I'm so glad that technology has ceased.

Hi Stu,

 

I don't have a copy of the link, however all you would get from this URL are instructions on how to remove the copy-protection software from your computer. It won't allow you to rip your album. You could at the time (I don't know if you still can) return your copy-protected copy for one without the software. Let me do some digging around.

I actually have two versions of the album, from which the first version is the copy protected one and therefore doesn't play on pc (nor in some cars for some reason..). The second version that I have is the "special limited edition" with the bonus dvd and the tracks Coulda Woulda Shoulda and All Because Of You in it. So that one doesn't have any copy protected label on it and you can play it on pc as well. Maybe you could search if someone's selling this limited edition somewhere?

I also bought the "A New Day" album that had the copy protection on it, but then when i bought it again a few months back in a triple pack with Lets Talk about Love and The Colour of my love, it didnt have the copy protection on it.

mine can be played on pc
