grobandion Posted August 25, 2008 at 10:07 PM Posted August 25, 2008 at 10:07 PM Hi, my name is Oscar, I'm 31, I'm from Argentina.I joined this forum in Sep 2007. At first, I only visited the spanish section of it, but I realized I didn't feel comfortable there. There were so many people I couldn't stand, and they were constantly using sarcasm as a way of proving they were smarter and better....So I stoped coming here. But then, after a few months, i give this forum (and myself) a second chance. This time in the English section I shortly found this section was like a mini "Epcot center", with the entire world represented in here.I have met so many amazing people in here, that I felt like saying it out loud...I'm proud of my friends first there is Peggi, wolfepaw, who has tought me how strong a person can be, and that you can overcome almost anything with your inner strength. There are no Hurricanes strong enough....Besides, she's probably the nicest person ever then there is tonybower and dhena, whose posts are always brilliant, and a real pleasure to read. Besides, they're always willing to help. Edwin taught me a lot about tolerance, respect and sense of humor. So has strk125. With Ann I have shared my addiction to the games...I can always count on her. And off course, such amazing people like Nati, Denelle, sophie, cath and the rest of my friends All of them make everytime I visit this forum something way much more than just a seek of information about Celine. They make me feel among friends....and I thank them for it I'm so proud of calling them my friends Do you feel the same? come on, if you're not afraid of being tagged as "corny", let's share it thanks for readingsaludos Oscar - GD
Edwin Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:11 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:11 AM Awhh, thanks GD You're a very sweet person, and I'm glad you Took A Chance On Us again I don't think I can prepare my list of my friends and what they mean to me right now, cause I'm sure I'd forget someone, LOL. But I'll think on it!
aicee Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:27 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:27 AM Being corny was not a problem. As long as people enjoy your company.
Bellamy Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:51 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 12:51 AM There were so many people I couldn't stand, and they were constantly using sarcasm as a way of proving they were smarter and better....So I stoped coming here. Black Kitten Posted August 26, 2008 at 01:09 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 01:09 AM (edited) that's so sweet of you Oscar. i really feel my posts are somewhat too ordinary to be called "smart". im not as smart as Manuel or Tony, but i just share my opinions when i want to get involved in a certain topic. putting my name next to Tony is a huge compliment i surely can't handle lol. but thank you. i'm glad someone is appreciating me, not only as a forumer, but most importantly, as a friend. all the best, Oscar. Lymon Posted August 26, 2008 at 03:44 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 03:44 AM I've made many amazing friends here, too ! My first three friends I remember were Edwin, Erika and Astrid. All three are really amazing, strong people who it's always a pleasure to talk to. Then I met my Indian buddy, Dhruv, who is one of the coolest guys out there(even if he doesn't like one of the most amazing songs on TC, Alone ). There's also people like Lea, Aly, and Kimba that are some of the funniest people I have ever met. There's many more amazing people on this website, and it's great just to speak to every person here and find out their different personalities and traits. I still feel very grateful that everyone here has been so nice and caring, this is most defanitly one of the best forums out there. Many different people, but united by one common fact: Celine. Ok, i'm defanitly riding the Corny Express http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png

Jacqui Posted August 26, 2008 at 06:57 AM Posted August 26, 2008 at 06:57 AM I'm not afraid to be corny, cheesy, all that stuff! That's what I love about this forum, that there are all types of people- different cultures, ages, everything- all united by a love for Celine. We can learn so much from each other and create wonderful friendships. Maybe we don't always see things the same way or agree on everything, but I think almost everyone here has good intentions.I met up with some fans from another forum last week (not a Celine one) and it was horrible. I should have known from reading the board. The people were so b*tchy- so ridiculously jealous of one another, so competitive and fake, it was exhausting being around them. I ended up sitting there and reading travel brochures. Not to mention another Celine forum where it's hard to believe that the people are even fans, between the lies they spread and the disrespectful things they say. So what I'm saying is we are blessed to have this forum and each other to talk to. With that, I will end, as I have just been pooped on.

tonybower Posted September 20, 2008 at 09:54 PM Posted September 20, 2008 at 09:54 PM I haven't had much time to visit the forum recently so I have only just found this thread... and I feel so guilty for not replying sooner...! Thanks GD for your honesty and sincerity and for your kind words. Since I joined the forum almost a year ago I have met some amazing people and had some interesting discussions with many others (yourself included!). It's so reassuring to know that there are like-minded people out there. I'm always amazed at how people seem to come together and find each other. Whatever situation I am (even if I'm surrounded by hundreds of people) I somehow manage to filter quite quickly through the crowds and find one or two people who I really connect with and who become lasting friends. It has always been that way for me. Although I haven't met many other forumers in person, I still feel like I have developed a connection with a small but dependable number of really nice, genuine people. And I always look forward to hearing what people are up to and what they are thinking right now, and even getting the occasional message from somebody. And of course, I feel very privileged to be in the company of Peggi and dhena et al. Hopefully I will have more time in the future to drop by and 'speak' with my friends here more often... wolfepaw Posted September 26, 2008 at 04:07 PM Posted September 26, 2008 at 04:07 PM My dearest, sweet Oscar. There are no words to describe how your topic has touched me. I started crying when I read the very kind words you said about the people you have met through this forum and how much it has meant to you. I can't thank you enough for calling me the "nicest person ever". I feel the same about you. From the very beginning, you were so open and generous with your thoughts, feelings and sharing Josh and Celine music with me. And sending me some of the local music from Argentina, which I really enjoyed. Not to mention the pictures of your beautiful family, which I get such a kick out of seeing. I'm sorry that I just saw this topic, otherwise I would have replied to it much sooner. Thank you for calling my attention to it in your PM. (And I'll be happy to make you any graphic you want. I can't see Josh without thinking of you). The people I have met on this forum are some of the nicest, most generous, wittiest, and oh so talented people I have ever had the pleasure to interact with. I agree that when I first joined this forum, I was a little leery. I had no idea of how much fun and enjoyment I would get out of it or of the amazing people I have "met" through the "Power of Celine". It's yet another example of her amazing gift to make people feel connected and loved. And I would like to thank her for it even though I'm sure she isn't even aware of how much she means to us and what she has set in motion here. Not to mention that I never did graphics before Celine. She has inspired to try things that I would never have tried before. The friends I have here that I would like to thank for all we have shared are numerous, but there are several who I feel I have to mention:First and foremost, there's YOU, Oscar. You are truly special and I am so thankful we connected. I look forward to your emails and pictures and I hope we can continue to share for a long time to come. Then there's Soloni, Ann, zoea2812, Snowhite, Denelle, destin139, angeluk2, KimboCosmo, ce-line, crannyview, summer elizabeth, xxROSExx, VintageCeline, EdwinDeux, the incomparable tonybower, and even Koolan (who I'm not too sure likes me). There are several others who I'm sure I left out and I hope they can forgive the oversight. Ann and Soloni have been some of my "bestest" friends on this forum and we have shared our love of graphics with each other. They have awesome talent and I really appreciate their friendship. It means a lot to me. I hope I haven't rambled on too much for this topic. But I felt I had to thank you and all the other wonderful people I have connected with on this forum. I'm a lot older than most of the people here, but I feel like a member of a terrific "family" and I look forward to a long association of sharing our love of Celine and all the other things as well. I want to wish all of you the best of everything and may you achieve your dreams and your heart's desires. You are a wonderful bunch of people and I feel very lucky to have found you. Celine said it best: You're the Reason I Go On. Love, Peggi (aka wolfepaw) http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k85/wolfepaw/Celine%20Dion/CelineTCinGermanySiglayerstrimmed.jpg
