CELINE featured within lyrics booklet of DAVE STEWART'S SONGBOOK

fans,

following the mention of DAVE STEWART's version of TAKING CHANCES included on THE DAVE STEWART SONGBOOK VOL. 1, i naturally ended up purchasing the album...

CELINE's name is listed on the back of the album for TAKING CHANCES as the first to record it (whereas KARA and DAVE really did it first), however, i was shocked to find a photo of CELINE and DAVE in the booklet (from the TC video in which she looks totally hot!), not to mention a blurb where dave reminisces of CELINE's insisting on HIM appearing in the video (which i did not know) and CELINE nearly running him over on a motorcycle!

cool (and funny), eh?

please, i ask, leave this topic on its own and do not merge it with the other which speaks of the re-recording of TC; this topic discusses our precious CELINE within a DAVE STEWART album.

p.s. : i am going 2 c her in MONTRÉAL tomorrow night; i'll have details upon my return!

quoted from the booklet:

"Taking Chances" is a Platinum Weird song written one crazy afternoon with my partner in Platinum Weird, Kara DioGuardi. I was laying on the sofa watching Kara direct a whole load of furniture being delivered, and she was loudly shouting, "No, not over there...hey, watch the staircase," as these burly guys struggled with sofas and beds. Meanwhile, I could hear some wind chimes just outside and I was trying to play the same random patterns the chimes were making. Kara is a genius with melody and multitasking, so as she's shouting to the delivery guys she starts singing, "Don't know much about your life." It was like a scene from a musical, with the furniture piling in and all this chaos around us, she was now singing, "What do you say to taking chances, what do you say to jumping off the edge." The song unfolded in about ten minutes while she was still directing the furniture traffic. Platinum Weird is an ongoing thing I have with Kara and I love it. When Céline Dion recorded the song, she asked me to be in her video. It was a great day out in the desert near Vegas (apart from nearly getting killed by Céline on a motorcycle!).

quoted from back of album:

9 "Taking Chances" Originally performed by Céline Dion (even with the accent, which i am noticing more and more and i just love it! CÉLINE!)

I'm probably gunna sound really dumb now, but I didnt think Celine was really on the motobike, I thought she had someone else to do it for her!

Lol, Oh well, Now I look like I dont know anything about her. But it's nice to know that other people think so much of her. And It great how they managed to write the song so fast! It's such a great song!

Peace out!!

Hehe, I love knowing the funny stories behind a song. 10 minutes huh? There I was thinking it was difficult to write a song

And Céline and a motorcycle? Aparently a dangerous combination... :P

Celine rode a motorcycle? :w00t: I'd pay big bucks to see this! Could anyone scan the photo too?
