STAND UP TO CANCER

On September 5th the three major television networks are coming together to Stand Up to Cancer. Also on this date a local charity, Go4the Goal, dedicated to helping children affected by cancer is getting into the act. On this date Go4theGoal will be delivering to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) 5 Xbox 360 Kiosks. These kiosks will be linked to another big event on that day…Celine Dion will be performing in Philadelphia and will visit live through these kiosks via the Companions in Courage closed network. In addition Celine Dion has donated several ticket packages that are being auctioned off to help raise funds that the Go4theGoal foundation will use for it’s mission – specifically these funds are targeted at building a Lion’s Den at CHOP. Lion’s Dens are room set up with areas for group games, pods for semi-private conversations, and individual computer stations unlike any they’ve ever seen before. These efforts are all aimed at allowing children to be kids despite being affected by cancer. También en esta fecha una organización caritativa local, Go4theGoal, dedicada a ayudar niños afectados por el cáncer, participará en el acto. En esta fecha Go4theGoal mandará a los niños del Hospital Infantil de Philadelphia 5 quioscos (supongo que se referirá a cabinas :shrug: ) de Xbox 360. Estas cabinas estarán unidas a otro gran evento de ese día... Celine Dion estará actuando en Philadelphia y visitará en directo a través de esas cabinas a través de las redes cerradas de (la empresa) "Companions in Courage". Adicionalmente Celine Dion ha donado algunos packs de entradas que están siendo ya subastadas para ayudar a incrementar los fondos que la fundación Go4theGoal usará para su misión - específicamente esos fondos tienen el fin de construir un "Lion's Den" en el Hospital Infantil de Philadelphia. Los Lion's Den son habitaciones con zonas de juegos en grupo, áreas de conversación semi-privada, y sistematizadas con ordenadores personalizados, como nunca antes se ha visto. Estos esfuerzos están ahí con la finalidad de que los chicos y chicas se sientan como los niños (que son) y que no tengan en cuenta o que olviden que tienen cáncer. si para philadelphia el 5 si no me equivoco se subastaron las entradas (bueno, superpack que incluia encuentro con Celine :cry: :cry: ) a cuanto llegaria la subasta? podiamos haber robado un banco o algo :glare: jejeje
