Sweden's Ara Abrahamian got it rough in the Olympics 2004, and didn't reach the gold medal thanks to the guys around him cheated. He then backed down from wrestling but decided to do a comeback and head for the golden medal in Beijing 2008. A lot of hard training and positive spirit Ara reaches the semifinals against Italy in the 2008 Olympics. He is clearly gonna win, but one thing stands in his way, and it is not a stronger player, but a corrupt judge. Italy's wrestler commited faults way more severe than Ara, and still Ara who didn't even break any rules was the one who got punished. The judge were litterly searching for reasons to punish him, and when they couldn't find any reasons - they made some up. And each judge gave a different story to why Ara lost against Italy, every story a poor after construction, the stories didn't even match. Still Ara could do nothing, when he demanded an explanation from the judges the field judge laughed in his face. Experts have come together and unite that the judges decisions are wrong. Ara hoped for at least a new game against the Italian, but was denied that by the Olympic comitee. Ara got the bronze medal, and it wasn't a fair game, in a silient protest he laid the medal down and left the arena. see video here Even though the judges so clearly cheated, the olympic organisers blame Ara, and is hurt by his actions during the medal ceremony. /fred Peace and love to all.

What do you wanna say by "Even the judges are corrupt during the Olympic Games 2008"? Well this time it wasn't only the atletes this time. It's a clear cheat. Many experts agree. And a lot of people came up to the Swedish team later thanking them for raising their voices in this issue. And no the judges wasn't Chineese, one was in fact Italian, how convinient. /fred Peace and love to all.

I know nothing about wrestling so I can`t tell you if the judges were wrong or not. They need to have an independent review to figure it all out

This is really sad when it comes to not being fair especially in a major sporting event like the Olympics. 2. Ara really shouldn't have thrown his medal off. It just shows his disrespect for the Games even though he was wronged. He was wronged, yes, but a disrespect by throwing the medal is way too much. He could have pressed charges and should have applied for an explanation from the Olympics Committee after a thorough review of the entire match. I'm neither pointing fingers at anyone but these two points were what I thought after reading and watching most of the footage in the internet, newspapers and tv coverage.

That`s like saying "You`re fired" and you say "You can`t fire me !! I quit !!" He didn`t want the medal coz he was unfairly judged. Unfortunately he didn`t use the proper procedures (like DJ said) so they have the right to ban him.

"Any disruption by any athlete, in particular a medalist, is in itself an insult to the other athletes and to the Olympic Movement. It is also contrary to the spirit of fair play." His medal was the third stripped at the Beijing Games so far. On Friday, North Korean shooter Kim Jong Su had his silver and bronze medals taken away after failing a doping test. Also expelled for doping violations have been Spanish cyclist Maria Isabel Moreno and Vietnamese gymnast Thi Ngan Thuong Do. Abrahamian's case is not the first of its kind. A weightlifter at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics was stripped of his bronze medal after rejecting it during the medal ceremony. Ibragim Samadov, competing in the light heavyweight category for the Unified Team of the former Soviet Union, was upset with his performance and refused to have the medal placed around his neck and only accepted it in his hand. He then put it down and walked off.
