What Did Celine Think Of The Song, "The Power Of The Dream" At First?

I'm watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics right now and got to thinking about the song, "The Power Of The Dream." I don't recall ever reading anything about what Celine's original feelings were about this song. Did she love it immediately when she was approached with it? Did she dislike it like she did "My Heart Will Go On?" I'm very curious to know.

I think I remember her saying there's a line in the song she doesn't like? I forget which line it was now, but she said it made her sad because while it's wonderful to have dreams, she knows that some people are in horrible situations and they really can't do anything about it. Or something like that. I think she likes the song overall though!

no she said she liked it but a specfic line in the song (unsure at the moment of which line) she didnt like because it reminded her of karine and how some people dont get dreams like that but they are born losing from the beginning like children like karine who are born with incurable diseases ..

I think that she bought her some pajamas too right before she died. It brings tears to my eyes to think of it now. Poor Celine. Karine's always with her though. I wonder what she would have looked like today. I know that Celine still counts her birthdays as if she was here.

Yup, Rene bought her pajamas, and Celine and her Sister and her Maman were there. I read that part of My Story My Dream (again!) just a few days ago. I was sitting in a pile of tissues by the end of it....life can be so unfair...
