TC World Tour Ultimate Fan Gathering Idea

Hi Folks,

 

It has been my dream to organize one of the biggest Celine fan gatherings ever and invite Celine to join us. With news of the last show now being added in Montreal, I would really like to give it more serious thought and get your feedback. I'm very serious, so if this interests you and you think you might actually make it to Montreal next February, please let me know. If I have enough of you really committed to it, I will start making some phone calls and sending out some letters to Celine's people.

 

What a dream this would be, for Celine to show up and spend some time with us at a fan gathering. I know she would appreciate a nice send-off from her dear fans. And though some people of course might not be able to make it, if it's a success, it doesn't have to be the only one...it could be the First Annual Celine and Fans Together Event (TC World Tour Edition); the next one could be organized in another country...you see where I'm going with this, right?! I'm sure there's something that could be done with the Celine Fan Charity that day as well; like a Silent Auction or something.

 

I can't wait to hear what you all think of this. And mods, if you like where I'm going with this or already have something like this in mind, please just make sure to include me as an organizer as I've now put the idea out there for all to see.

Right now it's just an idea that needs a lot of feedback especially having to do with numbers. If there are not enough people that think they will make it to Montreal next February, then there will be no point to go through all the organizing. I've mentioned February in Montreal, so around the last show date (Feb 13). Once there's some real strong interest, then Celine's people can be contacted to see what the possibilities are of her showing up to it, and then the date would depend on her schedule.

 

So...please people, start letting me hear some excitement and interest OR let me know if this excites and interests you but for a date in the future when you have more time and money!!!

Absolutely Jane, it can't hurt to ask, well if Celine was there I would make an extra special effort to attend because flights are so expensive, it would certainly be worth the trip

Thanks for your feedback and support, Jane; it means a whole lot to me that you would offer to help with contacts, etc...a whole big lot!! I won't rush into anything and will PM other mods to see if I might get the support to perhaps contact people in the name of Celine Dion Forum OR if I should continue more independently. My goal is for as many fans to benefit and attend a magical event. Imagine many of us at once getting special items autographed and professional photos taken with Celine, fans getting their chance to perform for her (give her a little concert, etc). I know it's a big dream, but I also know that when I put my mind and energy into something, it can be done. We are all capable of making our dreams comes true, we just need to believe and take action!!

I would looove to attend - but as a few others have mentioned I will most likely not be able to financially - thanks to gas/airfare prices, travel is not cheap at the moment. If I win the lottery or a private jet, I would be there in a heartbeat.

 

Something like this has been attempted before... and it didn't work at all. My advice/input is to dream big, but at the same time, don't get too carried away - be realistic.

Fortunately I don't need visa to Canada anymore... the only thing is that flights are a bit expensive... but I'd try to work on that

Hey- have faith people!

I'm a member on another forum for an actress and someone suggested the same thing- try to organize a fan meeting with her. She contacted her agents and they didn't refuse, they wanted more details! We were shocked... So there's always hope!

 

I thought about going to this show in Montreal but I'm not sure about it yet...

I wouldn't be able to go to a Montreal fan gathering because of the expense involved. But I am definitely gearing up for a 2010 fan gathering of her return to Vegas

Sounds like a fun idea Tracy and it's good to get an early start with feedback from people. I think a nice casual meeting with maybe a buffet dinner included would be nice. Maybe some tables where fans can display some of their Celine collection, maybe a Celine trivia event, maybe Celine to sing a few songs (haha, wouldnt that be incredible?).

I wouldn't be able to come, but I do hope that this idea becomes reality in some fashion. I see no reason why we can't all have "Faith" in having Celine show. Gloria Estefan fans have an annual get-together in Miami called Conga Bash and Gloria herself has attended some of these meetings. So it is possible.

Fans from here could have a chance to say a quick 5-10 second message. All the messages would then be blended together to form a 2-3 minute video. I understand, though, that if x-amount of people do this that not every person would be able to be in the video. However, it IS an idea.

So be sure that I will help you in whatever way I can do this.

And same as Paulina, I don't know whether I'll be going to Montréal in February but I'll do my best in being there and joining this cool even if you/we will make it happen!

 

Anyways, if you are thinking of it taking place in Montréal - the best way would be to organize it around the show there in Feburary. Of course it depends on Céline's plans in that time which we don't know by now but probably on the show day or one day before/after the show would be really a realistic date.

I’d actually thought of this - but wasn’t going to mention the idea until this project got off the ground a little bit -- but I would be more than happy to donate my time and create a video for this event. Maybe a photo montage of all of our “tour” pictures, since this will be one of, if not the final show of the tour? Let me know - I’m your girl!

I don't currently have tickets for that show.. but I am sure as heck going to work really hard on getting some.

I live in Georgia so it is a bit of a cost issue to fly to Canada but I AM from there... and I am a citizen of Canada...

and I have all my family there so at least I would have somewhere to stay... hmmmmm.
