I think it would be great It's quite common that the host nation picks up a load of medals. I think it's because as soon as a country finds out it has won the Olympic bid, it spends a bizillion pounds on sports development for young people, in hope of finding talent and nourishing it in time for the Olympics. Well that's what the UK are doing in time for 2012 anyway!
