Celine's vocal training

Anyone know what kind of voice training Celine does? What kind of exercises and such. Does she talk about it anywhere?

She did lessons, daily voice excercises, days of silence, there are certain foods she avoids before singing etc. There's a lot about it in My Story, My Dream. That said, she doesn't do as much training these days as she did 10 years ago! She has different priorities now.

I dunno whether she still does the ff:

 

1.Lean over a pot of steaming water for 30 minutes if her throat is feeling dry

 

2.Bend her neck as far back as she can and then try to reach certain notes

 

 

Prior to recording TCH, she didn't utter a single word for 3 straight days.

If you've got the ACDS dvd with the making of SSD album extra you will see and hear celine doing a little bit of her warmup exercises on there.

In the ND DVD she did the Saline Solution to help humidify her vocal chords while she was riding Caesars with Rene.

Yeah, just saw her with this mask on her face breathing some sort of steam. They say it's a saline steem but salt is solid, she can't breathe it...what am I missing here?? She's just breathing water steam right?

the saline Celine uses probably has other stuff in it, not only salt

I'm SO thankful that Celine takes such good care of her voice. She realizes her gift and keeps it in excellent condition. Granted, she used to go above and beyond what was needed to sound good - and as a result, her voice was more fluid and had more range in the 90s, but today she still sounds fantastic.

 

Celine takes care of her voice. Whitney Houston......not so much.

I dont think celine needs vocal training as much as she used to in the early days. She has far too much experience to need it now

I think she now only does voice training to maintain her voice, not train it to get 'better'.

 

She has enough experience now to know what she can and cannot do with her voice...

Yeah - Whitney Houston is the only female pop vocalist that was in the same league as Celine...and she absolutely destroys her vocal chords. I cannot imagine doing what she does when you have such an immense gift.
