Believe it or not Jane...yes it's TRUE...I have not had anything to drink tonight except for some Pepsi!

Here's a condensed (very) version of American history:

 

There is some debate about who first discovered America. Take your pick, either you can believe it was a Viking dude that landed here first, Leif Erikson or some Italian guy with his three ships (Nina, Pinta and the Santa Maria). That guy was named Christopher Columbus.

 

Of course they discovered that this place that was ALREADY inhabited by people...Indians...or to be politically correct...Native Americans. They had some fights with them.

 

Later, in the 1700's we had that war with England. Some guys were protesting some English tea tax so they dumped some tea in Boston Harbor, etc.

 

In the mid eighteen hundreds there was the worst American war ever, between the Union and the Confederacy. Also known as the civil war (I live very close to where some of the battles were and so does Kim's relatives) It's considered one of the most devastating American wars since it was AMERICAN vs AMERICAN.

 

Then there were a couple World Wars, I and II. Then there was something called the Korean and Vietnam "conflicts". They decided they did not like using the word war so they used "police action" or "conflict" instead of war.

 

Also there was a depression in the early 1930's, lots of poverty at that time.

 

So this is SOME history! :laugh:

But you have to remember the most scary time in American history...these were the years when Céline sold below 1 million albums in the US. :giggle:
