Hi guys

 

Just wondering does any one on this site have a Greyhound, Lurcher, Whippet, Pharoah houd italian Greyhound ect ..... and agree's with me that they are the BEST EVER dog that a person can own ( i mean i am a big dog fan and love all dogs) BUT the skinny's are the best!!!!!

 

Av got a Pharoh hound/Lurcher/ Whippet LoL well she's a mix

 

She has the markings and ears of a pharaoh hound, shes not as big as a lurcher but evry one thinks she is one BUT she is too big for a whippet so shes Mixed LoL

 

She is called summer (part or my forum name LoL) and she is 6y old: we rescued her from the RSPCA in october 2002. Some horrible person had left her tyed to a tree :cry: but it did mean she got to live with me. :D

 

she has lots of likes and dislikes: Likes: Lying in the sun for hours, loves chicken, sleeping, she curles up in a ball to sleep. Dislikes: cats, nervis around other dogs, baths (water).

She has many little habbits like she wont eat much before 5pm, and she digs everythink any think like the bed (Very cheeky)

 

Just wanted to know if any one else on this site has a skinny which has a story behind it and if the have any likes/dislikes or habbits like my summer does???

I don`t like the "skinnies" as you call them :laugh:

 

I love big "full" dogs :lol:

I'm with Jane, I prefer "big" dogs

Unfourtunately I don't have a dog right now. I had one when I was single, and lived with my parents...it was a German Shepperd

Now I'm just waiting to the kids to be a little bit older and then I'll buy a dog for them

I'm thinking a Golden Retriever...I've heard they're great with kids. What do you think?

LoL i understand some ppl dont like skinnies b4 i got summer i said " al have anythink but a greyhound" and my mum always teases me on that now coz i never aimed to get one but shes the best

 

And this topic isn't a show ur pet topic although i love seing pictures of other animals :yes:

yes there are many breads that are good with children but Golden Retrieves are specially known for there laided back attatude.

OMG...Golden Retrievers are the BEST dogs ever. My aunt had one for 10 years (he died last year), and the ENTIRE family cried and went to his "funeral". Honestly, you couldn't ask for a better dog.

 

He was a true blessing to all of the family, and was SO loyal and would do ANYTHING to protect any of us. I still cry sometimes, because we all miss him. :heart:

 

My aunt has talked about getting another one, but she just hates to get so attached to a wonderful pet and then lose it like that. He had cancer. :(

It´s a boy and he´s called Don. I don´t give him the name ;). My family and me called him Donnie. He is a siberian Husky and 4 years old :)

I love Huskies!

 

Especially Alaskan Huskies...when I worked and lived in Alaska, we had some on campus that would protect us when we went hiking from bears and such...they are such smart dogs!

 

And very lovable and cute...they looked JUST LIKE the dogs from the movie "Eight Below" :(

Oh I love those Huskies!

 

Greyhounds are supposed to be good "skinny" dogs. ^_^
