AllCeline Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:12 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:12 AM I'm not sure if I've got it but I haven't been able to sleep at all for the past couple of days. No matter how late it is, I just can't seem to get to sleep, and it's starting to worry me. And if I do sleep, it's not for more than probably two or three hours in the morning, after seven or eight. Anyone else ever have the same problem? I'm trying me best to re-set my sleeping habbits since school starts back up in a couple of weeks but not being able to sleep isn't helping much. I mean, look it me! It's 3:09am and I'm not in bed! Any help or advise? I'm starting to get a little panicky; this can't be good. celinedionsfan Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:19 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:19 AM Do you eat or drink anything in the hours right before you go to bed? Is something bothering you - other than the problem sleeping? What time do you get up each day? Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg
pat200 Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:27 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 07:27 AM I have it too for over 2 years now. it is hell, but whatever you do, do not take sleeping pills. try relaxing before going to sleep (doesn't help me much but maybe it can help you) Quote
Black Kitten Posted July 31, 2008 at 08:04 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 08:04 AM (edited) i don't know if it is already an insomia i am experiencing right now, but i find it really hard to sleep before 2:00 am. i have no problem with it though i have to always wake up at 6:00 am for school. 4 hours of sleep is enough for me. Céline's Blues Posted July 31, 2008 at 10:22 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 10:22 AM Simply try to minimalize computer, television use etc. And then go to bed unstressed and just fall asleep like always. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Jacqui Posted July 31, 2008 at 10:38 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 10:38 AM I went through about 6 months of this, and ended up taking some weird natural sleeping pill things for a while. But I wouldn't really advise that, because it's kind of a "bandaid solution" that you can't use forever- it doesn't treat the cause of the problem. My sleeping issues were caused by the fact that I had relatives in hospital and other issues and I was basically very very stressed, so when that situation improved, I became able to sleep again...but anyway, some things that might help... Getting into bed at the same time every night, and getting up at the same time every morning, no matter what- gets your body into a routine. If you're lying awake unable to sleep- sit in bed and read. It can take your mind off whatever might be causing you stress, and at least you're already in bed so the minute you feel sleepy, you can turn out the light.Don't sit or lay on your bed during the day- it sounds crazy, but it can actually work- this way, in your subconscious mind, the bed is a place for sleeping and nothing else! Not too much caffine or sugar, especially not at night! KimboCosmo Posted August 1, 2008 at 12:06 AM Posted August 1, 2008 at 12:06 AM Oooo I'm the QUEEN of insomnia! I've had it all my life (I think)...as long as I can remember anyway. I go without sleep A LOT of the time. When I do get home from work, I ALWAYS say I'm going to go to bed early (because I'm so exausted), but then I never do, and even if I do (I have tried to), I can't fall asleep once I'm laying there...I close my eyes, and I just can't go to sleep. It is very painful...I hate it. I don't take anything for it, I try to avoid any kind of medicine...and Doctors, I just don't agree with everything Dr.'s put people on, and who knows what some of that stuff does to your body, that they don't even know about yet. But that is just me... I sometimes can fall asleep around 3 or 4am but sometimes I'm up until 6, 7 or even 8am, then I get up around 11. Hope you get better Quote http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2765/48940711.png "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." stevethefan Posted August 3, 2008 at 04:48 AM Posted August 3, 2008 at 04:48 AM Yeah most of the advice is good. I think I have the opposite problem. I rarely have trouble getting to sleep but's that's mainly because I usually don't get enough of it. Quote

Krikkete Posted August 3, 2008 at 07:35 PM Posted August 3, 2008 at 07:35 PM (edited) Is it hot there?Do you use computer before going to sleep? Sometimes when I use it for a long time before going to bed, I can't sleep...Try to read something, don't think about your problems...Sometimes if I am lonely, I have a littile fear, so I turn on tv, shut down the sound, set the timer (20-30 minutes) and ronf ronf.. I don't watch tv, it is just a way for me to say: you're not alone Edited August 3, 2008 at 07:36 PM by Krikkete Quote Krikkete Krakkete Krukkete Krà "Leggo i topic prima di postare, ergo sum"
Allie Posted August 4, 2008 at 10:16 AM Posted August 4, 2008 at 10:16 AM I've had insomnia for a couple years, it takes me hours to fall asleep no matter how tired I am. My only suggestion is to watch TV to pass the time. For example, I flew home to LA from Indiana today. I was up at 6:45am, it was a 2 hour drive, 2 hours at the airport, my plane boarded and went, I had a layover in Minnesota, that plane boarded and went, and I didn't get into California until 4:30pm, which is 7:30 Indiana time - and now it's 3:15am CA time (I am still on Indiana time, it'll take me a bit to adjust) and so I've been up nearly 24 hours after all that and I don't think I'll get to sleep before the sun rises. No matter how tired I am, unless I pass out from lack of slepp (which has happened, I actually would rather do that because I sleep right away), I am just never tired when my head hits the pillow.
