Céline's Blues Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:20 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:20 PM Is one of the most perfect songs she has ever recorded. Let's worship it here. In this very thread. The sex, the undertones, the FORGETTING, the carelessness of the moment is all there described by fantastically chosen words and metaphors. Le Ballet - it has a beginning and an end. Always and end. It never lasts. Yet the staging can be repeated upon wish. No matter, the words don't have importance anymore They don't and they won't ever have it when both sides want it now and want it fast. The serious moment we all waiting on to be mention in the song is HARDLY mentioned. But the life goes on of course: And real life, is about to beginAnd yes, real life... This song is more current than ever, sheer timeless. Appreciate on your knees. Truly, appreciate what Céline and her amazing interpretation of the magnificent lyrics gave us. grobandion Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:30 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:30 PM I know I'm banned for your topics (with reason...) but I'll give my opinion hereI like the lyrics, but I can't stand the music, and the way it's delivered by CelineIn result, I hardly ever listen to it..... Quote
Jan Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:49 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 05:49 PM I must agree with Céline's Blues, Le ballet is a real gem from D'eux, my second favourite from the album (No1 is Je sais pas). Céline seems to like it, too, since she performed it in Memphis on the Falling Into You Tour, which is extraordinary. Her French singing is restricted to PQTME in non-francophone countries. Quote

reamary Posted July 30, 2008 at 06:10 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 06:10 PM Le ballet is magnificent.. In the beginning, when I first heard Le ballet, I didn't care much for it and hardly ever listened to it. But nowadays there isn't a song of Céline's that I wouldn't like, so my opinion about Le ballet changed too somewhere during the years. I think it's just magnificent, and absolutely one of my very favourites in Céline's French repertoire. Everything about it is just amazing, lyrics, all the instruments, the "finger clapping" (don't know the correct word), her voice.. everything! And to me it's just somehow so French too. Absolutely Fabulous. C'est magnifique! (was that enough worshipping? ) Quote http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o419/reamary/1338b390-8604-432c-8a00-e8e1052a92ba.jpgHELSINKI 9.6.2008 - PARIS 26.11.2013 - PARIS 28.6.2016 - STOCKHOLM 17.6.2017 !

CelineRules! Posted July 30, 2008 at 07:35 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 07:35 PM I truly love this song! I love the whole description of the 'mating dance' When you listen to the lyrics you can almost see a movie... And it's definitely not too slow, it has the perfect beat to keep up with the lyrics! A true gem! Ok I'm done being enthousiastic here Quote
LaFeeRailleuse Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:11 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:11 PM I adore this song too !It's VERY sensual ! I love how she introduces her musicians in Live à Paris... The moment when she imitates the drums makes it EVEN MORE sexy. Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:14 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:14 PM I love this song VERY,VERY MUCH! I wish she would have performed it without that LONG, BORING, Un-CLASSY band introduction! It sort of took away from it to me. Though, it's better than HELLO MEGO...AM I TALKIN' TO YOU....? SensationalCeline Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:28 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 08:28 PM One of my favorite songs by her in French. I don't think it's too slow or too fast, it's perfect for the lyrics. I first heard it on the On Ne Change Pas and I immediatley looked up the lyrics to it. It's a masterpiece! Not my favorite French song but it is one that is def. in my top 5! Lymon Posted July 30, 2008 at 11:53 PM Posted July 30, 2008 at 11:53 PM Amazing, amazing song. The tempo is just perfect, and I love the jazz/blues feel to the song. The lyrics are amazing, and as usual, Celine's vocals are top notch. One of the best from D'eux, easily, and one of her best French songs. Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png

Most of her French music is so much more than her English recordings. But I have my respect for both. This song.....really is perfection. Quote

Black Kitten Posted July 31, 2008 at 06:38 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 06:38 AM though i consider her live performance of this song as one of her countless bests, i really don't want to see celine pursuing this genre (not unless she wants to get the attention of the ever biassed "Grammy" ). it's a cool change, but this won't work for her advantage for sure. not that i hate it, but this isn't her style.
