L’imprésario René Angélil sera le nouveau directeur de Star Académie, à l’antenne de TVA en février 2009.

 

 

Selon les informations rapportées à LCN, le mari de Céline Dion succédera à Denis Bouchard, directeur de la troisième saison.

 

En conférence de presse, René Angélil s'est dit heureux de pouvoir partager son expérience avec de jeunes élèves et a avoué qu'il était un fan de l'émission, qu'il écoutait religieusement chaque dimanche depuis Las Vegas.

 

Il a également affirmé qu'après 47 ans dans le métier, il avait toujours la même passion pour la musique et serait donc très présent pour les aspirants chanteurs. «Je vais essayer d'être le plus présent possible, d'évaluer les performances, de les aider et de répondre à leurs questions.»

 

Julie Snyder a quant à elle affirmé que la venue du célèbre gérant était l'un des plus gros coups de sa carrière. «Et c'est le plus excitant!, a-t-elle avoué. Et c'est aussi un bon coup pour les élèves présents.»

 

Pour convaincre Angélil, Julie Snyder s'est alliée à France Lauzière et Stéphane Laporte. «Comme il dit, ce n'est pas son meilleur deal, affirme l'animatrice en parlant du cachet demandé par René Angélil. Il le fait vraiment par passion, parce qu'il aime transmettre ses connaissances.»

 

Questionnée à savoir si Céline Dion participera à Star Académie, Julie Snyder a affirmé que la populaire chanteuse sera du troisième gala et ce, en direct.

 

En attendant le début de Star Académie en février, les téléspectateurs pourront suivre les Auditions de Star Académie, une émission animée par Herby Moreau, qui sera diffusée le lundi à 19 h.

I'm probably not the best one to explain it, but "Star Academie" is a TV show in the line of "America Idol" or something. He will be (correct me if I'm wrong) couching the kids, as a tutor

 

That's great!!! but in the other hand, hopes for Celine visiting LatinAmerica are gone now.

She definetely won't carry on with the tour without Rene

Rene Angelil agrees to coach aspiring talent on popular Quebec reality show

MONTREAL — Rene Angelil, the manager of pop icon Celine Dion, has agreed to coach another generation of aspiring stars for a Quebec TV reality show.

 

Angelil, who is also Dion's husband, will advise and critique performers as they prepare and then perform for Star academie, which is broadcast on the French-language TVA network.

 

Julie Snyder, who hosts and produces Star academie, said at a news conference Tuesday that she asked Angelil during a recent telephone call if he would participate in the show. He agreed after a week of reflection.

 

Star academie is the Quebecois equivalent of CTV's Canadian Idol.

 

Angelil said the young people who participate in the show enjoy a springboard for their career that was not available to him when he was younger and in a musical trio called Les Baronets.

 

The Star academie team will travel to 12 cities in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick beginning in mid-August to find 100 candidates for the competition. That number will be narrowed down to 20, whose identities will be revealed during a gala in February.

 

Dion will also participate in one of the galas.

But if the show will be in February, that does not mean that she cannot give concerts in April, there are 2 months space in between Feeling Productions did not deny the rumour that she will add some concerts to her World Tour so let's pray!!!!!

Times change, people really likes her since like 2 years!

 

And i'm sooooo excited about that news!! Celine will be live in Montreal studios for the 1st time in the 3rd week! And it start in February, so i guess the tour will be over in march.

He really seems to love this I read somewhere that he was going to try to be there (at the Star Academie show) as often as he could (so he probably won't be there every week) and I don't think it nescesarily means Céline's tour will be over in February.

I think Céline will still add some concerts to the tourlists, could be february, but she can also take a few weeks of first (in february) and then do them in March or April for that matter.
