ashleylovesceline Posted May 5, 2005 at 11:03 PM Posted May 5, 2005 at 11:03 PM Just a thought I had... For those of you who have seen Céline live in concert in the previous years before her two-year hiatus, and also more recently in Las Vegas. Is there a difference in her performing? Do you think she has improved, or not? I never had the opportunity to see her until her show in Las Vegas, and I was just curious about this. Quote
dark_angel Posted May 6, 2005 at 05:19 PM Posted May 6, 2005 at 05:19 PM i've never went to a concert with her ...but i've seen some on tv ("a new day" is one of them ) and i think she's getting better....i think "a new day " is truly her best show... Quote

See, I have seen her in Las Vegas more than once, and I would say it was her best show ever. But I have nothing to compare it to, really. Sure I've seen the DVDs, but we all know that doesn't compare to the real thing. Quote
dark_angel Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:34 PM Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:34 PM I know that nothing is like the real thing, but i haven't seen any of her shows fom the audience...she never came to Romania and i can't go to Vegas or anywehere else... ...so i can only compare the way it looks on tv... ... Mozinha Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:56 PM Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:56 PM I've see her twice in Vegas. The only comparison I can talk about is how she perfomed on saturday january 15 and then sunday january 16. And I can say that on Jan 15 she was perfect and on Jan 16 she was even better Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/welovecelinedion/howcute5gv2.jpghttp://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10501;104/st/20080413/e/my+graduation/dt/4/k/f5ff/event.png "And really - isn't NOT caring about what others think of you the hallmark of a cool person?"
nano Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:59 PM Posted May 6, 2005 at 08:59 PM I haven't seen her live....but I've seen and heard her in some concerts and shows (on tv)... her voice has changed...but the spirit and the energy is still the same..She still has the spark in her eyes and the smile on her face..she is still the same 20-years-old woman Quote "Today, I’m a person on a path of connecting with my source and understanding that I am on the leading edge of creation.."
ashleylovesceline Posted May 7, 2005 at 05:35 AM Author Posted May 7, 2005 at 05:35 AM (edited) I've see her twice in Vegas. And I can say that on Jan 15 she was perfect and on Jan 16 she was even better <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree, every show is different! Some are more energized than others, it's great! That's really surprising that no one has seen her both on tour years ago, and now in Vegas. She never came to my hometown on tour, so I never saw her. I was too young to travel on my own... so when she came back from her break and went to Vegas. First of all, I wasn't going to waste the chance to see her now that she was back. I was a little afraid she would never come back to the stage. And also, I asked for a trip to see her from my parents for my high school graduation. It was the best gift to be able to not only go to Vegas but to see my idol Céline live and in person for the first time! I'll never forget it! I know her voice isn't as technically perfect like it was, even seeing her. Regardless she is still the best singer in the world no matter how old she is or what she's singing! But it doesn't matter how good her voice is technically, because I think she is more relaxed in her shows in Vegas. I think she has improved actually. But I can't say for sure, because I never saw her on tour. And we all know it's not 100% accurate to make assumptions when you see her on TV... seeing her live is completely different. That's why I posted this, I was curious to know what other people who have seen her both on tour and in Vegas thought. But I guess no one has? Koolan Posted May 7, 2005 at 06:18 AM Posted May 7, 2005 at 06:18 AM I've only seen her live twice in New York. The first time in 98 and second time in 2004, last October if that counts as "seeing her in Vegas" Well, it was during her Vegas contract Her voice does sound more relaxed and mature than before. Celine could still hit those high notes, althought at times, not quite there. You could see how happy she is now that her life is more complete. I miss her 1996 voice There's many fans that saw her Vegas show and the earlier concerts live, express yourself Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. LVCeline Posted May 12, 2005 at 04:23 AM Posted May 12, 2005 at 04:23 AM I've seen the Vegas show numerous times, and I've heard quite a few bootlegs from 1998-2000, as I'm sure we all have, and it's hard to compare. Everyone agrees that she's more relaxed with her technique nowadays, but that doesn't mean she isn't still a fantastic singer. Her voice has definitely gotten warmer, and more emotional, but she doesn't focus on perfection like she used to. It all depends on which aspects of her voice you love. I've only been a fan since 2002, and I love her previous voice, and I love her current voice just as much. Quote
canadachick Posted May 12, 2005 at 07:57 AM Posted May 12, 2005 at 07:57 AM I saw our diva twice before Vegas and once in Vegas. Since all three were spread out I'd be willing to offer my opinion. The first time was INCREDIBLE, the second time was even better considering I had my small moment with her (I took her a rose for her b-day and the guard actually let me past to give it to her and she talked to me for a tiny bit ), and the third was AWESOME. I'd have to agree with other members and say she gets better each time, which I thought was impossible, being that she was so great the first time. She perfects what fans already see as perfection. Like already said, I think she feels more relaxed in Vegas without touring and being able to have a family, that she can give us a great performance unlike before. No matter what, she's great...a true sign of a diva! Quote http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l169/gretchenb05/womaninme.jpg "Without music, life would be a mistake."

SFchick Posted May 12, 2005 at 08:28 AM Posted May 12, 2005 at 08:28 AM Ive seen her 8 times in total!! 5 times in London FIY tour twice and LTAL tour twice as well!! And the 3 times this last april in vegas! I think she sounded superb in FYI and i was at a loss for words! She sounded a little erm well just not as good a little tired and run down!! In Vegas however her voice has taken on a whole new vibe and sound to it!! Its so relaxed and she goes with the song! YOu know she doesnt let the song control her anymore but she controls the songs! and the whole voice flows!! Going to see it again in September Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v415/friedls/9632acaa.jpg
