Love, Posted July 25, 2008 at 08:51 PM Posted July 25, 2008 at 08:51 PM (edited) To Grandma, with Love Two hours ago, I looked out the window as I could see my grandma in our car with my dad and grandpa - as the car rolled away slowly from the driveway. She was headed to the hospital. 14 years ago, she had a heart surgery - the reason why she is alive today. Now, 14 years later, it is time for another one. For the last few months, we noticed her health declining. She had been fearful of having surgery. I would too, if I were 70 years old. But she made the choice last night that it is time. Now, she is in the Emergency Room. I do not know what will happen next. Here I am. I am very worried. :( :(I will continue to pray to God and ask for strength for her, and encouragement for my family and myself. But I will still have a heavy heart. I want her to be well again. I love her, with all my heart, and all my soul. The person I am today, and the reason I am here, is because of her. But I know what it's like to see your grandma ill (and in my case pass away), and I keep you and your family in my thoughts... I hope for your sake that everything turns out okay.. But I believe that we are put on this earth for a purpose, with a life plan, that we are supposed to learn something and that our spirits return home with this knowledge... Whatever happens it was meant to be, even though it's difficult for us left behind to deal with and keep following our daily routines... and that's part of our journey... Update: Today, I went and visited Grandma and stayed with her for seven hours. She had a sonogram, and she was eating well. She said that she feels a little bit more strength today. We still have not gotten the official word yet on when her surgery will be. She's still going through many tests. But she's smiling today. So, we'll just keep hoping and praying! Grandma will be going into surgery early on Wednesday morning. It will be an open heart surgery, replacing one of the valves. The procedure normally takes between three to six hours. The surgeon is one of the best in the state of California and one of the most generous people that I know of. So, I'm hoping and praying for the very best. That's all I can do... Quote
