Did you try the Flash Uninstaller?

I DID!! I said I did all suggestions! :P

Did you just go to Add/Remove Programs to remove? If so also try this:

1) Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller:

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashpl...lash_player.exe

2) Quit ALL running applications.

3) Run the uninstaller. This will remove Adobe Flash Player from all browsers on the system

4) Reboot.

5)Reinstall Flash.

I'm violating my own personal pet peeve by posting when I could edit..but I want to keep the 'troubleshooting' suggestion to one post each. You may either be missing a dll or it may have been corrupted.

[hide_me]

1) Download msacm32.dll https://people.creighton.edu/~eep54310/msacm32.dll

2) Save to C:\WINDOWS\system32

3) This doesn't require a reboot, try playing sound again.

Attempts of the day  Although I would think removing Flash should have also cleared this sites...But it's something I hadn't suggested yet

Delete Website Storage Settings

Go to: http://www.macromedia.com/support/document..._manager07.html

Delete all sites

----

I found that there is a threat called flashmute.exe that might be causing this. Reported July 4 2008

Davey: Can you go to C:\Windows and see if there is a file by that name? Even if there isn't, try running Malware Bytes and see if it picks up any other threats other scans didn't catch. You can download it from: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php
