stuartguthrie Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) Hey all, I thought that this would be an interesting post. What Celine Dion song most speaks to you and your life? I know there's too many to choose from, but try to choose just one. Stu P.S. My choice is 'Taking Chances' P.P.S. I apologize if this is a double-post, I did look but couldn't find one. grobandion Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Well, it has changed trhoughout my life. But I'll stick to "Have you ever been in love" since it was my wedding songAnd for my wife it's "If I could" (I know it's a cover, but the only version I know is Celine's) coz I translated it to Spanish for her to understand it, and it never fails to move her. Black Kitten Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 the candy coated Dreamin' of You. ok i know it's too cheesy and very high schoolish that talks about young love, but i remember playing this song repeatedy when i had my 1st "real" crush in school. corny! LOL right now, it's Taking Chances. Quote
Lymon Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Fade Away is a pretty important song in my life now. It doesn't relate to me specifically(i'm not trying to get over a failed relationship), but the main idea of getting over something and moving on is real to me now, since i've had to learn the hard way who your real friends are Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png

reamary Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 There are couple. Je t'aime encore is very special to me because it always makes me think about my little brother who passed away in 1994. It's been a long time I know, but ever since this song came out in 2003 it immediately hit me because of the lyrics. Then there's A New Day Has Come... It was really important for me through 2002 and 2003, I always listened to it before (and after) all the possible special occasions, and when I felt like I needed "strenght" or needed to calm or just anything! It's the most important Céline song to me, my "power song" really! Timster Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Taking Chances will be very relevant to me, I'm going to Japan next week and can't speak Japanese and don't like fish!! I just feel that almost every song in Taking Chances (TC,A,FA,SS,TT,AWTBI) links to people in very special ways and relates to people's feelings, whether good or bad, it's amazing. I just love this album! It lifts you up and gives you the confidence you need in whatever situation you're in. Quote
C.D._LoVer Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I have so many... each of her songs are so meaningful. But the ones that really stand out are... - Je T'aime Encore. - Fade Away- Because You Loved Me- No Living Without you - Taking Chances- A New Day Has Come - I Surrender - A World To Believe in These songs can be interrupted in so many different ways, but to me I think about how much I love and miss my father who passed in '04 when I hear each of these. Alex_Incognito Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I'd say: "Lolita (trop jeune pour aimer)" - It reminds me of my first love. Such an innocent, special time. Now, I'd say "Paul et Virginie" ----"je voudrais qu'un jour qu'un garçon me regarde comme en ce temps-là..." Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
QuynhLovesCeline Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 i always listen to That's The Way It Is, if i'm desperate .. so, this is my favourite song! Quote
