Yes, one of my pet-peeves every time I watch bootlegs is:

When a fan starts getting excited and they decide to start singing along. First, they start with a smile. Then, they start waving their hand in the air. All of a sudden, they start squirming, little by little, and that squirm becomes a little voice. Then a little hum. Then a voice. Then the voice gets louder and louder, and suddenly they're joining Celine in full throttle. They start singing along, and their mouth is just open wide. They lose themselves in the moment. And they become louder and louder! I'm not talking about a future American-Idol winner singing along - I'm talking about someone who doesn't even sound they're singing - it's more like a mixture of train tracks, a ringing bell, a shaking squishy toys, growls, off-tuned flutes, and William Hung - all rolled into one! :mdr:

 

Okay, maybe I'm just over-exaggerating... but!

The diva with one of the most beautiful voices on the planet has some of the most tone-deaf and off-keyed fans out there!

I agree with you, Soph. Nothing's worse than paying beaucoup de dollars to hear a BEAUTIFUL voice sing---and then you hear some shrill voice that hardly knows the words to the song singing tone-deaf.

 

If you want to show off your voice and that you know the lyrics, do it before the show in front of your car in the parking lot! lol

I read this thread and it made me laugh so hard because the first time my husband and I went to Vegas for AND we sat next to two ladies that were SOOOOOOOOOOOO tone deaf and they sang EVERY song at the top of their lungs!!! The next time we went, I had third row seats right in the middle and I turned around to the people behind me and joked about what had happened before. I said to everyone, "If you can't sing on key, PLEASE don't sing during My Heart Will Go On or I'll cry!!!"

hahaha yeh i ran on stage and told celine to shut up coz i couldnt hear the two crazy women in fron tof me hahaha. nah there werent really two crazy women in front of me i had good crowds around me each time but i dont mind on bootlegs when people are singing its really funny! I probably wouldnt have been able to help myself if the set list had actually been songs that i wasnt bored to death of already hahaha.

I'm sure they thought it was funny because they were laughing! Of course, how could you NOT laugh at the thought of two women who sound like dying cats! I don't think they could have even held the tune to Happy Birthday!!!

Oh I know I sing off key, I give myself a headache if I sing too much! I sang along in Vegas, but not that loud because I could hear myself. In Amsterdam, though, the music was so loud I couldn't even hear myself, so you betcha I sang along that ABM note, it was the PERFECT time to do so.

 

I actually have never experienced hearing someone next to me singing during a concert. Guess I only have eyes and ears for Celine.

but the biggest of its power wasn't with ABM for me! For me it was with Alone!! all those notes! it was as if her voice surrounded me completely and devoured me!
