stuartguthrie Posted July 19, 2008 at 06:11 PM Posted July 19, 2008 at 06:11 PM Hey all, I just went to see the new Batman for the second time and absolutely loved it! Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? I'm not a Heath Ledger fan but I was blown away by his acting - he did an amazing job as the Joker. Stu Quote Have a MySpace??? LVCeline Posted July 20, 2008 at 02:18 PM Posted July 20, 2008 at 02:18 PM Yeah I saw it Friday! It was quite spectacular! The action was very intense! Heath Ledger did an unbelievable job. Joker was sick, twisted, disturbing, demented, and unremorseful! Everything considered it's an incredible movie. I have a slight issue with a few things. First of all, I felt it wasn't a Batman movie, and that Batman himself played second wheel to the Joker and Harvey Dent. I also felt they tried to cram too much into the movie, and it should have ended with the Joker, but instead kept going with Harvey's side storyline which finished out the movie. I wanted to see more of a focused storyline between Batman and Joker. It definitely has some unexpected twists and turns, so that kept me on edge, and I really did enjoy it, but I still think the very first 2 Batman movies are the best in the series! Quote
destin139 Posted July 20, 2008 at 10:10 PM Posted July 20, 2008 at 10:10 PM it comes out on thursday here in the uk - cant wait to see it - it looks incredible! Quote http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww171/destin139/Celine2.jpg

Yeah, I think you're right in that Batman did play second wheel to the Joker (not too sure about Harvey Dent though - I didn't see him as anything too spectacular). I'm actually still undecided on Christian Bale's (???) ability to play Batman - he's good but he doesn't seem to fit the part as well as Val Kilmer or the other guy that played Batman (???) did. Yeah, I also think you're right there, but I'm glad that they didn't extend it any longer than the 3 hours that it went for - I think I had two toilet breaks and had to get up to stretch my legs once - lol. Apparently the last couple of scenes were never filmed which was why they had to cut to the film finishing with Harvey Dent. Did you notice that some of the stuff with Harvey strays from the original Batman scripts and comics? I won't extend on what incase I ruin it for others. Stu P.S. Great minds must think alike - lol. grobandion Posted July 21, 2008 at 04:23 PM Posted July 21, 2008 at 04:23 PM I haven't seen it, and probably must wait until it's released on DVD, since I really can't go to the cinema while my baby is so little.I'm not that "thrilled" with the movie though, as I consider Tim Burton's "Batman" and "Batman Returns" as two masterpieces.Heath's "Joker" (El Guason to us) looks pretty good..but I honestly think it's a little overrated due to his death. I can't see any performance superior than Jack Nicholson's back from 1989. Quote

CelineAndRene Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:28 AM Posted July 22, 2008 at 02:28 AM Yes, I hear the Joker (Heath) was brilliant in this film. It's a pity he isn't around to hear the reviews. Yeah, it sure is. I can't understand how someone could ever take their own life. I have bi-polar disorder and often get very down but there's no way I could ever overdose. CelineAndRene Posted July 22, 2008 at 04:22 AM Posted July 22, 2008 at 04:22 AM Well, all I've heard about the subject was that "SUPPOSEDLY" he was so convinced that he WAS his Character (Joker) and it just eventually drove him insane. But I saw on TV Guide that many people are actually questioning if that was indeed, what happended. As an actor, he seemed mature enough to handle a role like that. We'll never know what was actually going on through his head... Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. stevethefan Posted July 22, 2008 at 11:50 PM Posted July 22, 2008 at 11:50 PM (edited) I just saw it today. I was almost reluctant to see it since the movie was so hyped up but I have to say it lived up to all of it. I really like it although it was pretty long. Edwin Posted August 4, 2008 at 02:58 AM Posted August 4, 2008 at 02:58 AM LOL, catch The Batman fever did ya? No offense, but I was surprised you had already seen it. Didn't it take you a while to view some of the other blockbusters Quote
stevethefan Posted August 4, 2008 at 03:14 AM Posted August 4, 2008 at 03:14 AM LOL, catch The Batman fever did ya? No offense, but I was surprised you had already seen it. Didn't it take you a while to view some of the other blockbusters Well I don't always want to see the blockbuster movies that everyone goes to see, at least when they first come out. Usually I just see them when they come out on DVD. BUT, some movies HAVE to be seen in a regular theatre, and this is one of them. I liked the one that came out a few years ago so I knew this one would be good. I'm also a fan of the original Indian Jones movies and I still have not seen that one but I'm kind of reluctant to see it since the original three were great and i have a feeling that this one is not! Krys Posted August 4, 2008 at 05:50 AM Posted August 4, 2008 at 05:50 AM trust me Steve, dont watch the new Indiana Jones. it really sucks im going to watch Batty again later Quote
LVCeline Posted August 4, 2008 at 01:42 PM Posted August 4, 2008 at 01:42 PM I saw it a second time and it was just as good, and I'm seeing it a 3rd time on Thursday! I believe the only other movies I've seen 3 times in theaters was X-Men 2 and Titanic. You just can't get Joker out of your head, he makes the entire movie for me! Quote

But the guy who leaked the photos just disappeared, due to unknown reason, could be afraid or lawsuit.
