Dion siblings and other things? Curious to know...

I've always been curious as to the ages of Celine's brothers and sisters. Does anyone know?

 

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Celine has talked about them having success in the music industry (in Canada, I guess), but none of them have any where near ascertained the level of success Celine has. She has also said that all the success that she has, it is their success as well. Does anyone know what role her siblings play in her career? I know Michel worked as a stage manager on AND and is on the world tour with her and I believe her sister Manon is her assistant. I think someone said Linda takes care of Rene-Charles.

 

I'm kind of curious as to whether any of her older brothers (like Michel) play the father figure for her now that her father is deceased (yet still with her ) and what each of them bring to the table for her in the role of support. Are any of them protective of her when she argues with Rene about something? Does any of this make sense? (Not that anyone would really know the answers to these, but if you do I sure would appreciate your take on it )

 

What about her mom? Any of her sisters play "mom" too?

 

Have they ever done interviews together as a family? I've only seen the one from Oprah, I believe it was in 1997, when Oprah brought her family in as a surprise for Celine. She sang "Fly" and nearly everyone, including Oprah were left in tears. Does anyone have this show recorded/uploaded anywhere? I saw it on Youtube once, but haven't been able to find it since. I guess the bottom line is, I'd like to know a little more about the Dions as a family unit. Any sibling rivalry ? (The normal,good kind of rivalry, not because of jealousy or anything like that. Normal family stuff )

I know that Clément is working as a manager on her Golf Course "Le Mirage". Paul and Liette are doing work for the Maman Dion Foundation. Ghislaine, Claudette and Daniel are currently touring throughout Québec with "Le Dion Show".

Last night I was re-reading My Story, My Dream, and on page 193, it says Celine's Mother was going to babysit Linda's son. But I really clearly remember Celine saying that Linda was never able to have kids, and that's why she's Rene-Charles's Godmother and she takes care of him when Celine's working.

 

Is anyone able to explain that? I just thought it was really random and weird lol.

Michel is backstage. Linda is in the audience when Rene-Charles goes to the show- we saw her, Alain, RC and Maman in Sydney. I'm not sure about Manon?

I'll share what comes to my mind this minute regarding Céline's family....

As you may know Michel was in a group called The Show in Québec a long time ago and is very close to Céline. Claudette has song with Céline over the years(the early years). She had a singing career in Québec and made some albums and shows including a Piaf tribute once, also she did a daily show once that was kind of a mix of talk and musical show co-hosting with singer Mario Pelchat on Québec's TV at one point. She is still a guess host on some Québec's morning talk shows occasionnally today. Claudette, Céline's godmother, also was managing a Céline and René nickels restaurant in the 90's. She's the best known Céline sibling(with Maman Dion) that media talk too to have Céline's family opinion on things most of the time. I had the chance to talk to Claudette in the 90's once and I find her to be such an amazing and nice woman....enough to help me on something she wasn't obliged to help me with...regarding my attending a Céline special event. I was very impressed with Claudette and her kindness and love for her sister Céline and respect for her fans.

I remember her sister Pauline was responsible and working for the fan club in the early years. I remember that she was the one who called me to invite me to a cd laungh in the early 90's. Now she has six kids so..

Ghyslaine was once Céline's backup singer in the early years that's right, she was still doing it when Céline did TV shows for Dion chante Plamondon even. I remember especially one show that was all about Céline one night on TV that was called on SRC "Studio Libre" with Michel Desautels. It used to be on youtube..Céline sang many live songs from Dion chante Plamondon that night like "J'ai besoin d'un chum" and others plus she did an interview and Ghyslaine participated as a backup on this show. In the 90's I saw her father everytime I went to see Céline on shows in Montréal, he was so proud of his daughter, he was a very nice and answered everyone who saluted him. Céline has a big and nice family. Of course, like in every family I guess they had to deal with problems but I don't think it was much different than for all of us

Oh yes, they seem to be a nice family and I'm always wondering how it would be to have a sister who is so famous. I guess I would be very proud of my sister.

 

Oh yes, the performance of "Fly" is very sad...
