MusicMatch Posted July 29, 2008 at 12:18 PM Posted July 29, 2008 at 12:18 PM (edited) This movie is absolutly incredible. I never expected Meryl Streep to sing that good. She is amazing! The rest of the cast also is but she really steals the show, I think atleast. I've already seen it 3 times, and each and everyone of them I enjoyed and sang along even louder then the first time. And yes I agree, Pierce should just shut up. Seriously, he look good but when he opens his mouth.. god, RUN! bfhb Posted August 1, 2008 at 02:32 PM Posted August 1, 2008 at 02:32 PM (edited) i was not a fan of the musical ....but i love this movie the mamma mia story stands up better here and its no longer a bad karaoke show.....finally we get a taste of summer the songs belong to the story yes they are abba songs and always will be, but now with such a strong cast and stunning scenery they are here part of the mamma mia story ....it gave me goosebumps ...highlights for me were DANCING QUEEN, SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS and THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL and WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE ... i really reccommend this film ...it will make u smile on the inside and the outside ...simply wonderful! Edwin Posted August 1, 2008 at 02:36 PM Posted August 1, 2008 at 02:36 PM The highlights for me were Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous and Does Your Mother Know. And from the encores, Waterloo!!! I am planning on seeing it for the second time tomorrow. uh-huh! Quote

angeluk2 Posted August 1, 2008 at 07:00 PM Posted August 1, 2008 at 07:00 PM After seeing Mamma Mia for the second time, I can definitely say that the best thing about it is JULIE WALTERS! She is absolutely hilarious and just amazing!! Obviously Meryl is brilliant as well, but I LOVED Julie! I just saw it today and i loved it!! I have to agree with Amy,I loved everyone in it ,but Julie Walters was brilliant.Im a big fan of hers anyway but she was great in this!I couldnt stop singing the songs as soon as they started and the rest of the time i just sat there with a big grin on my face like this Quote CHOCOLATE is the answer....I don't give a damn what the question was!
Edwin Posted August 1, 2008 at 07:09 PM Posted August 1, 2008 at 07:09 PM I never heard of Julie Walters before, but yes her performance was memorable. Quote

I surely didn't. I just said that she sings good. But I sure as hell never expected her to sing this good. I'm surely not comparing her to Abba because like you said, no one sings it better than they can. So i recommend you to go and see a film in your own language. And think twice before you say something child oke I saw the movie yesterday... and it was good, but not great... I really had to get 'into' the story. I sometimes felt that the songs were completely out of place... they just bursted out into singing... also the movie is very hysterical! why were Donna and her friends so hysterical mon dion! I was suprised by the singing of Merryl, but there were times when I was like like the 'yeees I've been broken hearted' also Pierce isn't the best singer in the world, but I guess he managed it well enough. btw how much time did donna and sophie had for getting dressed for the wedding? it was like they had a whole week... The best part was the The winner takes it all part, although at one point it kinda became a boring videoclip I was thinking though, Céline should cover this song, she'd make a masterpiece out of it! I liked Hairspray much more... everything was right in that movie, the scenery, the singers and dancers in the background, the place of the songs.... I didn't have that feeling with this movie. Bellamy Posted August 6, 2008 at 07:02 PM Posted August 6, 2008 at 07:02 PM Abba make charts history with Gold 7 hours ago Swedish pop sensation Abba made UK chart history with the return of their greatest hits album to the number one spot. First released 16 years ago, Gold - Greatest Hits is the oldest album ever to reach number one, The Official Charts Company revealed. It is the fourth biggest-selling album of all time in the UK and one of the top 40 worldwide, with sales topping 26 million, the company said. It is the fifth time that Gold - Greatest Hits has topped the UK chart, and the second time that the band has achieved a number one selling album in the last few weeks. The soundtrack to the hit Abba-inspired film Mamma Mia! took the top spot in July. The album's success saw Coldplay's Viva la Vida pushed down one place to number two. Meanwhile in the UK singles chart, American musician Kid Rock took the top spot, ending rapper Dizzee Rascal's four-week reign. Kid Rock's catchy All Summer Long moved up one place, knocking Dizzee Rascal's Dance Wiv Me down to number two. Kid Rock also saw success in the official album's chart, with Rock N Roll Jesus jumping more than 140 places to number four. Another US musician celebrating success in the singles chart was Katy Perry, whose popular track I Kissed A Girl shot to number four from position 139. Script moved up 27 places to number three with The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Jordon Sparks Featuring Chris Brown dropped two places to position five with No Air.http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5ii...jEcZRO69d1M1Tyg Look at what a blockbuster movie could do.
