I think a video contest would be cool cause:

 

1. Not everybody can draw

2. Not everybody can sing

3. Not everybody speaks english fluently to write a poem. (*cough* me *cough*)

But then not everyone can make videos.

Maybe ask members to guess which date and time we'll reach 19,000 members. The closest one will win.

 

this might be fun! in any case it should be something with a deadline, not a real time contest (like the Alone promo one) cos people who are asleep/on holiday/whatever won't be able to join, but a contest like guessing the 19.000 limit, that's a good idea! we're now at 18,502 members, so by October 7th it could happen!

it doesn't matter. It may be singing, photoshop work, drawing, video and then we'll choose the best of all of them. Just the one we like the most. The contest may be made in several rounds. For example in the first round will participate all entries, then we'll eliminate some and then the third round will be the final top 5 or something like that.

With regards to the 19000 idea: I would be concerned about people getting their friends and family to join on different IP addresses

 

The random draw: Not all members are big fans. I would prefer that this prize went to someone really deserving. Perhaps we could have a random draw, but members first have to be nominated by, say, 10 other members. If you`re new here then you`ll have to campaign for nominations.

 

Video: A lot of people won`t even have video cameras. We need to ensure that this is available for everyone and that no one is restricted just because they didn`t have the right technology etc.

 

Celine Item Photo: This will be hugely entertaining It stands to reason that Vic and Bellamy would be the judges. Sopha would make a great judge too.

There would probably need to be certain criteria such as originality, creativity etc. Each criteria could get points out of 10 and the person with the highest score wins. The judges could even just cut it down to 10 and then we could have a 2 week poll

But then not everyone can visit interesting places lol I'm not too sure what's been done in previous competetions, but here is my suggestion. Ask everyone who wishes to take part to write a paragraph or so telling how Celine has touched their lives, why they are fans and what Celine means to them? I'm pretty sure everyone could do that?

I've done some contests with my own board (about emergency services) and everything we opted for a sort of competition. We asked some questions to be answered and the correct answers would be mailed to a specific mailaddress. After the competition was closed we filtered the correct answers and everyone witht he correct answer was put in a softwareprogramma that randomly picked a few winners.

 

I think this is the fairest way. You have to do something (answer some questions) and in the end it's an innocent software programm that gives choses a winner.

I think this is the best way. First no contest would be fair to everyone. Second, fans contribute more to this forum deserve more chances than leechers. Third, it's fun. Forth, you don't have to be live in the most amazing place in the world, creativity and original idea can make you win too.
